This hitch is rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 5,000 lbs vertical load, giving you plenty of capacity for long-haul RVs and heavy toy haulers. The steel construction is tested to SAE J2638 standards and finished with black powder coat plus e-coat for corrosion resistance. That combination gives you a setup that feels solid mile after mile and stands up to weather and road grime.
When you hit a sharp turn, the head automatically slides 14" toward the tailgate to give you clearance between your cab and trailer—no getting in and out to move a manual slider. As soon as you straighten out, it glides back toward the cab. The low-friction plates run smoothly on metal tubes with no gears or delicate parts, keeping movement simple and reliable every time.
The premium single-hook jaw wraps around the king pin for a secure connection with less rattle than a slide-bar design. Once the king pin is in place, the handle locks automatically so you can see and feel that it’s latched. The hitch plate is self-locking too, which makes coupling straightforward and repeatable without extra steps.
The dual-pivot head moves both front-to-back and side-to-side to help limit chucking as you travel. That little bit of controlled motion between truck and trailer helps absorb bumps and dips so the ride feels smoother and quieter through rough stretches.
When you’re done towing, the hitch plate lifts off to make removal easier. The base weighs 187 lbs total, but the separate 43-lb hitch plate can come off first so it’s more manageable to clear out your bed when you need the space.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this PullRite custom installation kit with the base rails for your fifth wheel trailer hitches. Has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this kit here is a custom fit kit. It is designed to fit the 2017 to 2022 Ford F250 and F350 Super Duty trucks with the 6-3/4 foot length bed and without the OEM prep package. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application.
Now this installation kit will let you mount your fifth wheel trailer hitch in the bed of your truck. The mounting brackets, which are right here on the side, you can see I've attached into the rails just to show you what they look like when they're put together, but these mounting brackets will install beneath your truck bed. And they provide attachment points for these above bed base rails. The base rails here, these are what'll provide the necessary mounting points for your fifth wheel hitch to attach to. Now, the custom fit mounting brackets here on the side, these are mount to your existing holes in your vehicle's frame.
Helps minimize drilling and measuring, helps reduce installation time, and it'll even avoid known obstacles along your truck's frame. Now, one of the best features on these PullRite brackets, these kits, these installation kits, they use these built-in tabs on each mounting bracket on each corner. And what those tabs do is they're right below the slotted bolt hole here. And these tabs will eliminate one of your biggest problems when you install these mounting brackets on a vehicle, which is how to keep the nut here in place when installing these bolts of the mounting brackets. Basically there's hardly, in a lot of your trucks, there's hardly any room to get anything in there to hold the nut in place.
So what they've done is they've put these tabs and let me zoom in a little bit closer to try to show you. It's hard to see being all black, but right here, they have a thinner piece of metal and there's a slot in there and what you do is you bend that metal down, put the nut in the slot, and then bend it back up in place and it'll hold that nut, like if you had a wrench on it. And then when you put your bolt in to tighten it down, all you have to do is tighten it down from the top and that cab is gonna hold that nut in place. It's a really nice feature that they put on there. And again, it's at each corner.
Just to show you what we're talking about, maybe this insert will give you a better idea. There's an underside shot of that bracket. You can see where there's a slot that holds the nut in place. Now, this kit is compatible with PullRite, B&W Patriot, CURT, Demco, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, and even the Reese above bed fifth wheel hitches. The parts are a black powder coat steel construction. They are corrosion resistant. It does include everything shown here on the table, the two base rails. Underneath the base rails, we have these plastic base rail spacers, comes with the custom mounting brackets, all the hardware you need for installation, and a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. These parts are made in the USA. And again, the gross towing weight capacity on this kit is 20,000 pounds. But that's gonna do it for a look at the PullRite custom installation kit with the base rails for the fifth wheel trailer hitches.

Perfect fit, I'd say so! When are you going to be able to take it out for its first tow, Tommy?

The new hitch looks fantastic in your truck! Also, thanks for sharing about the clearance with the fender wells. We have not heard that feedback yet so it will be helpful information to have and share.

Thanks for the awesome review, David! And that first sentence might be the best installation advice we’ve heard in a while. It’s great to hear the SuperGlide lived up to expectations and gave you the clearance and maneuverability you were looking for with the short bed setup. Sounds like you really put it through its paces too, from parking lot testing to highway driving. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, and happy trails and hope you have a great holiday weekend!

Overall, once the latching mechanism is well lubricated with WD40, as recommended, and after bending the trigger pin and breaking it off Pullrite sent me a replacement part quickly, and learning from Pullrite the best way to back the pinbox up to the hitch is to have the capture plate at a height near the bottom of the hitch plate and lit it slide up as you back into the hitch, will trigger the mechanism easily. And that certain works well now. I wish there was a way to raise the height of the hitch head, as we had trailer interference on the pickup bed on a tight turn where the truck was articulated uphill from the nose of the trailer. I am going to try lowering my trailer pinbox and see if I can get better clearance. That mishap cost me $3,200 in body repairs. Make sure you check you trailer nose clearance to the bed rails .. and after learning a hard lesson, you should be looking at a 5-6 inch clearance at a minimum when level. Overall, I do love the hitch!! And Pullrite was extremely responsive to my questions and need for a new replacement part.
