Do A 2022 Chevy 2500 And A 2026 Chevy 2500 Use The Same 5th Wheel Hitch Installation Kit?

Updated 08/31/2026 | Published 08/24/2026

Question:

Had the 2900 installed on my 2022 2500hd silverado last April. I am now buying a 2026 2500hd silverado. Do I need to replace the hardware or can I reuse everything for installation on my new truck? If I need new hardware, what do I need?

Hey Jesse, cool name! You can actually re use your hardware, brackets and rails here. The 2022 Chevy 2500 and the 2026 Chevy 2500 use the exact same custom brackets and hardware. So, assuming your new truck does not have the factory puck system, and assuming you can remove everything cleanly, you can absolutely use the same installation kit on your new truck.

If your new 2026 Silverado has the factory fifth-wheel puck system, let me know because that changes the setup.

Or, if you want to keep the rail kit in your old truck, we do have a new installation kit available as part # PUL59RR.

Are you keeping the same 5th wheel?

Yes keeping the same 5th wheel. We purchased the 2900 knowing we might upgrade at some point but at this point we are only hauling 13k.
