The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with S20 Slider is built from sturdy steel and rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 5,000 lbs vertical load limit. The heavy-duty construction and carbide powder coat finish give it the backbone to handle long hauls with demanding 5th-wheel trailers. It mounts securely in your truck bed using the included base rails and installation kit, providing a strong foundation for stable towing mile after mile.
This hitch takes the stress out of the ride with its interlocking 2-jaw system that wraps completely around the king pin for 360-degree contact. That tight connection cuts down on rattle and movement compared to slide-bar models, giving you a quieter, more secure feel. The fully articulating torsion head helps suppress road shock and smooths out bumps so you can tow with greater control and comfort.
Short-bed truck owners will appreciate the S20 slider’s 12" of fore/aft travel that helps prevent contact between the cab and trailer during slow-speed turns. The non-binding design automatically latches in both directions, so you only need to exit the truck once when adjusting. It’s designed for use on beds shorter than 8' (not recommended for those under 6'), giving you the space you need to back up and park without worry.
The 3-point indicator system shows red when uncoupled, yellow when ready to couple, and green when locked for towing—so you can confirm your connection at a glance. The handle locks to secure the trailer with a padlock (sold separately) and resets automatically after uncoupling. With its self-aligning head and included lube plate for smooth engagement, hitching up becomes a quick, straightforward process every time.
When it’s time to use your truck bed for something else, removal is straightforward thanks to the fast 1-pin head removal design. One person can lift off the head without extra tools or heavy lifting equipment. Grease fittings built into the base make upkeep simple too—just add lubrication through the two zerk fittings to keep everything running smoothly between trips.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for the Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1999 to 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 models, with either the six and a half foot bed or the eight foot bed. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle. That'll show you if this will work for your application.
Now these brackets right here, they are designed to mount beneath your truck bed to provide the attachment point for your fifth wheel rails. Now those fifth wheel rails, we do sell separately on our website. They go by part number C16104 or C16204. And just give you an idea what those rails look like, they come in a set of two, and again, they'll attach to these mounting brackets on your vehicle. This provides a custom fit by mounting to the existing holes in your vehicle's frame.
That will minimize the amount of drilling that's required to install these, and it'll cut the installation time in half when compared with universal bracket kits. If you notice, it does include all the necessary hardware to install it. It does even come with this nice extra bracket for relocation of the electrical box. And it comes with a nice set of instructions with pictures that'll describe how these parts install. The finish on these brackets is a nice black powder coat finish to resist corrosion.
And these will work with the BMW, CURT, Draw-Tite, and Husky above bed fifth wheel trailer hitches. But that should do it for the review on the CURT Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for the Chevrolet and GMC trucks..

Instructions were very easy to follow, diagrams were detailed and clear. The installation itself is a bit of a chore but with simple hand tools and a helper to hold the carriage bolts inside the bed, the install took less than 90 minutes.
I’m able to do so much more with my truck now that I’ve installed these rails. I’m pulling fifth wheels and goose neck trailers. I had to drill a hole in each side of the frame which wasn’t the easiest thing to do. Use a jack and a block of wood to lift up on the frame but leave the tires on the ground. This will give you more room for a drill and an impact gun to tighten everything up once it’s on.

Worked very well. Instalation instructions were precise and easy to follow. Took some work to install which was worth the effort.
I just received the hitch. I ordered it very late New Years night. It shipped the next day with an estimated delivery of Friday before 8pm. I received it on Thursday about noon. Awesome super-fast shipping. It came in 3 HEAVY boxes, one of which was slightly damaged but I have not unpacked it yet. I hope to do so this weekend. I have bought from etrailer before and have no doubt this will be as good as the other purchases I have made.
I wish I could give two ratings for this kit, one for quality of product, and one for quality of fit and instruction. The product quality, once it is installed is very nice and heavy duty.
The instructions, and the fit on my 2005 GMC one ton dually leave a lot to be desired. They say it should take about 90 minutes to install. Plan on about 8 hours if you don't have a lift, and plan on drilling 3/4 inch holes in the frame rails. You better have access to a compressor, cut off wheel, 1/2 inch impact gun, 1/2 inch drill motor and 3/4 drill or reamer. This is NOT for the average "weekend warrior" with a small set of hand tools to install.
Very strong product I would give five stars except the instructions would not be good for an every day truck owner but the E trailer video is really good the only issue with a long bed is you have to drill 4 holes in the front of the frame two on each side and be aware if you do have a long bed truck you will need a big drillbit for instants I used a 7/8 but the overall product is good shipping was great could not imagine having to install the universal brackets and this kit made it so much easier
Product was great but what I really want to review was the customer service one of the packages showed up box was broke open and parts missing Lauren in customer service got right on it and had new parts to me within a couple days ..A+ effort and communication

Well built. Some bolts are a bugger to get tightened up but not bad. Didn't remove the heat shield.

The hitch has worked very well. It is very sturdy, and I have had no problems. I would recommend this to someone with a short bed for the ability to slide the hitch.

High quality, heavy duty system. Bolted right in and instructions were easy to follow. I feel good about pulling our camper with this set up. Only issue was shipping, the box was damaged and was missing the pins that were ordered. But customer service quickly got thing fixed and resent.
This is a great kit from Curt to install your 5th wheel hitch. Installation was not to hard even while working on the ground. Tightening up the frame and rail nuts was a little difficult. You will need an Extra Long 3/4 inch Ratcheting Wrench to get to the ones near the fuel tank. The customer service from etrailer is Exceptional. I was missing a few spacers and bolts because UPS trashed the box but etrailer replaced all the hardware over night. Definitely will be using this company for all future purchases. Thank you!
Upon delivery the box was a little banged up. Everything was inside was still in good condition. To my time with install to insure proper alignment, the only thing I can say negative about it is, you need 4 additional 3/4 inch washers for the frame bracket bolts that are not included, at least I did! On both sides. In the end it was a rather easy success.
2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, installed the Custom 5th Wheel Installation kit along with the Q16 Slider Hitch. Product arrived very quickly after ordering. It was shipped in 3 different boxes. One box was a little beat up during shipping, but all of the parts were there and undamaged. I watched the installation video once, then my brother-in-law and I tackled the job which took us about 2 hours. This was not difficult to install other than trying to get the 1/2" bolt through the hole on the driver side of the frame (the frame is boxed there). The included wire guide helped, but you still have to manipulate the bolt into the right position in a very tight spot. Everything turned out to be a perfect fit, no modifications needed. Also, I removed both rear wheels before starting which gave us plenty of working room. I have purchased from etrailer in the past and will continue to use them in the future.
First, the is a very heavy duty hitch. I watch the etrailer videos and the installation was simple. No issues at all. Second, I order from Matt who was very helpful an knowledgeable on the product. He said it would be delivered in two days. I laughed but low and be hold it was delivered in two days and the packing was incredible. I Thank you Matt for all you assistance.

My hitch is working great still. Easy to use no issues.
I previously owned the Curt A16. We needed a larger tow capacity so we purchased the A20 and decided to buy the S20 slider base as well. Too many sharp turning issues with our 6’8” Chevy standard bed HD3500 during maneuvering. The S20 slider should eliminate this issue. Also I love the design of both the A20 and S20.
