Mounted this hitch about a year ago and really like it. We pull a fifth wheel camper so this affords us the ability to haul our bikes or kayaks(tall T stand) up front. Was easy to install and looks good to boot.

Great Front Hitch.
Installed in the upper position so I have plenty of ground clearance. Everything needed to install was supplied, they even supplied a very handy wire snake tool for installing the bolts in the frame, this made the install easy.

The hitch works great! I use it for pushing my camper into its tight parking spot next to my garage, wouldn’t be able to get it there with out it. Also use it to put a bike rack on the front of the truck when pulling the camper.

Very well package. When it arrived the box it came in was taped up by UPS. Tore up pretty good. Then I opened it discovered it was very well package with a spacer box. The nuts and bolts were in a sealed plastic bag and taped to the cross bar In fact everything was well wrapped in plastic. I was impressed.
Now the only down side, partly my fault. I have a cow catcher on the front of my truck (aka Grill guard) which is attached to the truck where the Hitch receiver was needing to go. As hard as I tried both the Grill Guard and Receiver didn't want to share the same space. One or the other but not both. I was attempting to mount a tire up front as my goal. Trying to get away from a U-Bolt special that I currently have its never tight and seems to shift not a good thing. So for now its on to plan B or C.

2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Very Pleased with this Front Mount Hitch I installed on my 2016 F250 Super Duty.

EVERYTHING fit prefect and installation was straight forward.

I did this install myself (1 person), If you take your time, work smart, it is very doable for anyone that can turn wrenches.

Once the side brackets were bolted to the frame, I used a floor Jack to lift the roll & hitch into place. This makes it an easy 1 person job.

I wanted the Hitch in the "upper" position and a nice clean look, so instead of just notching the air dam as is suggested, I took my time and cut a square that allowed the hitch to pass thru from behind. The end result is an install that looks like it was designed to be there.

Also I placed painters tape on the air dam so I could use a black sharpie to mark up my opening and easily redo if needed. And yes I redid it a few times till I was satisfied with the planned location.

Lastly i was able to drill a hole in all 4 corners of my desired opening and then used a utility knife with a new blade to cut out the opening. Took my time and the results were worth the effort. I have and could have used a rotary tool, yet feel I have better control with a sharp knife.

Suggest watching the On-Line Install Video prior to getting started.
2012 install Video was the exact procedure for my 2016.

Working alone with no air tools, planning out the air dam opening location, and just taking my time, it took about 2.5 hours to complete the install......

2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty

This item is everything it's claimed to be. Very well designed, great finish and perfect fit. Installation is easy (for one person) however I recommend watching the installation video for the "Tech Tips" which proved very useful. In the video the truck is on a lift which is ideal, however when working on the ground, space is limited when using a long handle torque wrench.
A couple additional tips I found useful are:
First, drive onto ramps for the extra clearance when using the torque wrench.
When re-using the factory nuts and bolts (18-mm in used front two holes of frame) use 2 of the supplied fishing wires together on the bolts; this keeps them from falling away from the frame while lining them up.
Use an 18-mm ratcheted box wrench to remove the inner bolts on the passenger side of the frame when removing factory tie-down brackets
For the receiver extending thru the air dam I wanted it to extend thru a hole and not cut out a notch for a factory look. I covered the area with blue painters tape. I measured up from the bottom 4" and marked the tape; took a straight edge and marked tape up from the sides of the receiver tube to mark a 3" square.
Next I outlined the 3" square with green painters tape to outline the cut-out area. I used a sharp utility knife to make the cut. Take your time and it cuts very easily. (save the cutout plastic)
After installing receiver you can trim the saved cutout to fill in any opening at the bottom. I used with JB Weld to glue the trimmed piece back into place.
Install a receiver cover for a clean finished look.
All this took 2.5 hours without any extra hands.

I went with this hitch since I have an after market front bumper. I wasn’t sure if it was going to fit but since this hitch was a bolted connection it gave me 2 options to have a chance it would fit. One I received the package the box was damaged but all the hardware had been taken to the hitch, so everything was there. I installed the hitch by myself and took me about 2 hours but that was due to the aftermarket bumper and dealing with that hardware at the same time otherwise the install went smooth. Tha last phot is to show this hitch worked with this bumper.

2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I mounted mine high and missed the hole location slightly off from the perfection I wanted, but I am the only person who will notice. Nice adapter and I put mine on to mount an emergency winch to but the side supports hang down only 6 inches off the ground and the bar that goes across is 7 inches off the ground. Prior to the mounting, the lowest part on the front was the differential and it was 9 inches so I lost 3 full inches of clearance. Brilliant custom tool for feeding the bolt through the frame. Super heavy duty.

2014 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

2014 F-250 FX4. Ordered this hitch on Friday, and received it on Tuesday. Instructions were simple, it took less that 2 hours to install. It made backing my boat around a corner and into my carport easier than I had hoped. I shoulda installed a front-end hitch a long time ago. My initial concern was losing ground clearance, but the brackets only extend below the air dam by about 1/2".

2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty

This fit perfect and e-trailer’s video was easy to follow for the install. Did it myself in a couple hours. Just used a block of wood to help hold up the center section when I was installing it. Installed in the higher position so had to cut a hole in the plastic trim. 2011 f350 crew cab 4x4.

2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Can’t beat the Curt’s brand, always top of the line and made in the USA putting Americans to work. Sure it a few dollars more but no comparison to the cheaper China crap. Which do you want to put your trailer or anything else behind or in front of your truck? Comes with grade 8 bolts and detailed instructions. Took about a hour to put on and I didn’t pull out the impact, hardest part is cutting the plastic front air dam so it looks good and not like a 3 year old did it - just caulk around it with black adhesive silicone to get a nice look when your done. (2016 f250 perfect fit)

2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Fit my 2015 Ford F350 perfect. Holds my bike rack so the bikes can go with me when the slide -in camper is on the truck. Mounted with the high mount and cut the cowling for the hitch to fit through. Had to work at tightening the nuts with the torque wrench in the limited work area under the truck. This is the second truck I have put a front receiver hitch on.

I did not remove anything. My truck is 4WD which might make a difference. I mounted the hitch against the front cowling and cut it out with the hitch pressing against the plastic cowling, afterword. I didnt start out to do that, it just seemed to work after tightening the bolts enough to see where the hole was going to be.

2012 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

very easy to install, directions were clear and accurate. Gives just the proper amount of clearance to slide my 9,000 lb winch into place. ground clearance reduction is very minimal. i didn't want to trim my front fascia to gain the extra inches so mounting it in the lower space made the install much easier and quicker. looks like a factory installed piece.

In general the vehicle specific hitches mount in approximately the same location for both brands. Usually this is not the lowest point on the vehicle, so it typically does not decrease the overall ground clearance of the vehicle. Many times the transfer cases, oil pans, or suspension component are lower on the vehicle than the front mount hitch. However, depending on what accessories are mounted in the hitch, the ground clearance can be decreased. If this is a concern for you, you might consider accesories that install in the hitch with a rise in the shank if possible. Also be aware of the extended distance in front of the vehicle the accessories may be, and this may also affect your angle of approach on inclines.

Love it. Perfect fit and easy to install.

We haul a 41' fith wheel around and have a pair of electric bikes. Initially we carried the bikes on the back of the 5th wheel, but they bounced badly as we drove down the highway. The bikes are 70 lbs each plus the carrier and the trailer hitch was only rated for 150 lbs.

The front end receiver is rated at 300 lbs and our bikes ride beautifully. I added an 8" receiver extender so I could easily remove our bike carrier for normal city driving.

2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Curt Front Hitch- Has it already been one year? What a great performance. Installed this front hitch on my F350 superduty to mount a Yakima bike rack up front- I've got a truck camper on the rig that precludes use of rear hitch for adding racks.

Solid product- easy to install. Definitly need help lifting in place to bolt down but directions and assembly are straight forward. I've now purchased multiple items from etrailer.com and have loved the customer service and highly recommend them to everyone who asks. Quality outfit that delivers.

Installed the hitch on my 2016 Ford 350HD without much difficulty. (would be no difficulty if I had a helper to help do some lifting, but just myself - me and a jack). The receiver can be installed either with the tube low or high. High meant that I had to cut a notch in my air dam, so I installed it low which still had good ground clearance. If I ever need it higher, then the attachment plate allows one to just reverse the bolt placement and cut a notch in the air dam. I use the receiver for my 9000 lb. winch so that I can use the winch for pulling whatever. Have pulled stumps, trees, etc. with it with no problem whatsoever. Good heavy duty receiver. Didn't even have to take the tow hooks off. Good purchase.

Ford F-250 Super Duty

This Curt front-end receiver hitch was easy to install using common hand tools and a hydraulic jack. It was possible to mount without the jack, but it made the install easier for a single handed job. The instructions were easy to follow and after mounting, I was able to carry 2 bikes on the front of my F-250 and a slide-in camper on the rear. All in all, it was exactly what I hoped for when I ordered it. The model specific fit was perfect for my situation.

Last year I ordered Front end Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch for my 2016 Ford F250 Truck. I was totally satisfied how fast it came as well has how helpful the instructions were online and in the box. Ford F-450 Super Duty

A great front hitch. I liked that it could be inverted to be below the air dam. Used it for carrying bicycles. Traded the truck and will be ordering one soon for a new F450. Curt has some good designers. Really like the Q16 with roller slider and now the Q24 with the puck mounting system. Fine products!

Recommended Front Mount Receiver Hitch for 2016 Ford F-350
Although it mounts to the sides of the front frame members instead of the tow hooks, the EcoHitch # EH59FR front mounted receiver would install so that the receiver tube sits behind the license plate holder. The installion instructions for the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65049 do not require that the front lower bumper spoiler be removed therefore yes, I believe you can leave it in position while you install the trailer hitch. Can Cargo Carrier be Used with a Super Hitch Original and SuperTruss Extension on 2015 Ford F-350
Based on the picture of your set up you would not be able to use a hitch mounted cargo carrier but I do have possible solutions for you. First you will need a receiver on the front of the trailer if you want to use a hitch bike rack. We actually have the Bike Bunk # CC-275 but it is limited to 100 pounds total weight. Detail K2 Snowplow for 2" Hitches K2AVAL8422. Will This Work On A Lifted Truck?
In order to use the Detail K2 Snowplow # K2AVAL8422, your front hitch must be between 13"-18" from the ground, when measured from the bottom of the receiver opening to the ground. We installed the Curt front hitch # C31018 on a 2012 F250 where everything was stock, and the front hitch was at about 15-1/2". Can a Front Mount Trailer Hitch be Used to Carry Bikes
You can use a front mount hitch such as # C31018 for a bike carrier. But there are a few things you will need to be aware of. When the bikes are loaded on the carrier they can reduce driver visibility and somewhat restrict airflow to the motor. In some cases they can also block the front lights on the vehicle. Reduced visibility and airflow to the motor probably will not be an issue in most cases. But if the lights are blocked you would have to remove the wheels on the bikes.

We have two options for front hitches for your 2016 Ford F-250 4x4, but I think the best is the Draw Tite part # 65049 as it has the best price by a large margin and has a much better price than the Curt competitor part # C31018. The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31018 is a great option for a 2014 Ford F-350. It is recessed behind the bumper by a few inches but not so much so that I think you would have any issues with bike racks in the in-use position. Whether or not they could be folded would be a different story but at that point you'd be blocking headlight visibility and airflow to the radiator so not really something I'd recommend. There are bound to be some slight differences amongst the year vehicles that Curt front receiver # C31018 fits. The truck in the video, linked for reference, is a 2012 so there have been some design changes between then and the 2015 models. But the hitch does fit the 2015 Ford F-350 4x4s. Another option is Draw-Tite hitch # 65049. It has a different design than the Curt hitch. Can Bike Racks Install in Front Hitches of Vehicles
That we are aware of no...there aren't any states that have laws against carrying bikes in front hitches like the Curt # C31018 that you referenced. Typically if you contact a DOT or highway patrol agency they'll tell you that as long as you don't obstruct the license plate and headlights there's no reason you couldn't do it. You might check with highway patrols in areas you plan to travel though.

Curt front mount trailer hitch # C31018 only fits 4 wheel drive models of the 2015 Ford F-250. Draw-Tite front mount hitch # 65049 will fit both 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive models (minor fascia trimming required for installation on 4 wheel drive models). Front Mount Hitch for 2022 Ford F-350
There sure is! I'd recommend the Curt # C13078 which fits SRW models of the 2022 Ford F350. I'll link to a photo showing what the hitch looks like once installed. The # C31018 you'd looked at fits an older Ford Super Duty, and wouldn't work with your truck.

On the 19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs Item # C18100 it measures 10-3/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier. The Curt front mount hitch # C31018 for your 2014 Ford F-250 is recessed less than that so the carrier will fit. But you will likely not be able to fold up the carrier unless the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the truck is less than 4-1/2 inches.
