Recommended Curt Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2015 Toyota Tundra

Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 09/30/2024

Question:

I’m looking at buying a fifth wheel hitch. I will be installing my bed rail kit this weekend. My question is I’m seeing pick system hitches and bed rail system style hitches. I like the Curt Q20 slider but it says it’s a pick mount. Will that still lock into my bed rails or should I just stay clear of puck hitches? Thanks for your advice. Ron

Hey Ron, great question. So basically unless you have a puck system in your bed which it sounds like you don't, you're going to want to steer clear of those style hitches because those are not going to work with regular 5th wheel rails.

For regular rails, I'd recommend going with the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ S20 Slider # C55DR instead. This hitch is identical to the Q20, has the same weight ratings, and has an adjustable hitch height of 17-1/2" - 21-1/2".

Hey Ron, how did things go with the Curt A20 slider for your bed rail setup? Your results could really help others deciding between puck and rail-style hitches. Sharing what worked might guide someone else in the same spot.
