Today we're going to take a look at the Curt universal fifth wheel base rails with the gloss finish. These base rails will install in your truck bed to provide the necessary attachment points for your fifth wheel trailer hitch. These rails are a sturdy steel construction, has a nice high gloss black powder coat finish on it to help resist corrosion. They're also cold cured in a rust resistant liquid Bonderite coating. These are compatible with above bed fifth wheel hitches from Curt, Drawtite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley. They are also designed to work with goose neck adapters.
This part will include the two base rails. It does require a custom installation kit with the mounting brackets and hardware to install this on your vehicle. We do sell that separately on our website. What I would recommend for that is you need to go to our website, use our fit guide. Put in your year, make, and model vehicle and it'll show you what custom installation kit is required to put these rails on your vehicle. Total length on these rails is 43 inches long.

EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED to say the least I placed the order online and it was a week late then the time it was supposed to be delivered that in itself was frustrating I need to deliver a fifth wheel trailer to a customer so that caused a delay but times are tuff so things happen I let the customer know so I waited finally received the package and it was taped at all corners once I opened it the hardware bag was opened and missing 3 pieces which keep me from installing the hitch brackets reached out and talk to a customer rep to get the missing parts shipped she said it would be expedited I just noticed that the parts won’t make it in till literally a whole week after my call to them about missing parts that my friends is not expediting! The customer is rightfully upset. I would have paid for them to express mail the parts even if it was their responsibility in order for me to provide good customer service on my end. Now I need to hire someone else to deliver the trailer. I’m very disappointed on how etrailer handled this turning this purchase into a regretful one.
After placing the order for the universal rails I received a call from a rep suggesting I purchase the custom fit for my Ram 3500 which I did. The directions were straight forward and the install was too bad. I was concerned that a couple of the bolts came down in a location where torquing the nuts was not possible. I have checked several times and they are still very tight. I recommend these as they work great with my hitch.
Great product - everything needed in the box. As previous reviews state, not too bad installing except the front driver side near the gas tank was an absolute nightmare. Hitch fit perfectly in the rails after install. Can't beat etrailer's support and guidance such as the video to help with install.
We have not had our tails installed yet, however I was extremely impressed with how fast the product shipped. Personally I feel that company’s are using covid as an excuse for poor customer service. NOT ETRAILER. Will def be ordering from them again in the future.
