This setup combines the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch and Turnoverball Gooseneck system to give you real strength for heavy trailers. The Companion delivers a gross towing weight of 20,000 lbs and a 5,000 lbs vertical load limit, so it’s ready for long hauls with large fifth wheels. The gray powder coated steel base resists corrosion, and the wide stance adds strength and stability when loaded down. When you’re done towing a fifth wheel, the same Turnoverball base can handle gooseneck duty rated at 30,000 lbs GTW and 7,500 lbs vertical load limit.
The Companion’s 1" thick dual jaws wrap fully around the king pin for 360-degree contact, cutting down on rattle and movement that can wear you out on the road. This tight fit gives a solid feel when you’re pulling out or braking hard. Underneath the head, polyurethane bushings absorb vibration and allow smooth front-to-back and side-to-side pivoting. That flexibility keeps the ride quiet and limits chucking even over uneven pavement or rough campgrounds.
Anyone who’s unhooked on uneven ground knows how much binding pressure can make release tough. The Companion’s cam-action latch handle solves that by opening easily even when parked on an angle. Once unlatched, driving forward will free the jaws without wrestling them open by hand. A pin and clip hold the handle closed while towing, or swap in your own padlock for extra security using a lock with a 5/16" diameter shackle.
The hitch is made to come apart quickly into two manageable pieces—a head and a base—so clearing your truck bed doesn’t require equipment or extra muscle. The base locks into the Turnoverball gooseneck hitch that installs under the bed using existing frame holes. When you’re done towing, pull the Companion out and flip the gooseneck ball upside down into its socket. That single hole in the bed is all that’s left visible, leaving full access for hauling gear or loading cargo.
Getting your trailer level is simple with three height settings between 16-1/4" and 18-1/4". You can also mount the pivot arms fore or aft to fine-tune cab clearance or axle positioning. These adjustments make it easier to match different trailer heights while keeping proper weight balance for stable handling mile after mile.
This fifth-wheel trailer hitch is not compatible with Sidewinder or Revolution king pins. Do not use any device that changes the pivot point of your trailer's king pin with this hitch.

Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at the B&W Turnover Gooseneck Custom Installation Kit for your Chevy and GMC trucks. And folks, this is a custom fit application, make sure you're getting the right parts for your specific vehicle. Check out our homepage, etrailer.com, top center of the page where it says my vehicle, enter your year, make, and model, cab size, bed length, that kind of stuff. Make sure you're getting the right parts the first time for your specific vehicle. Now, folks, this rail kit will let you install your B&W Turnover Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, which is sold separately.
And then when all that's installed together, it would look something like this in the bed of your truck. So as you can see, it's a nice, clean, super low profile. You got the two safety chain hooks that are spring loaded on the outside, and the ball is flipped over and in the stored position. You could then flip it over and have it in the tow position. Again, that Turnover Gooseneck Trailer Hitch is sold separately.
I'll go ahead and put that up there on the screen in case you need that. Now, all the hardware here is gonna come with the install kit. I've also got four bolts and nuts and washers and lock washers that you don't see here that I've already mocked up the actual demo here with today. Now, what these guys here are, if you've never seen these before, you're not familiar with, some are spacers and some are actually what will help you hold nuts and bolts in place when you're doing the install on some hard to reach places. You've got a little rubber O-ring here.
Check the instructions that are included to make sure you install that in the correct area. And again, everything here I've kinda got loosely fit together just to kinda show you what would look like in the bed of the vehicle. It may be twisted around depending on the orientation that you're looking. These side brackets, folks, these are gonna mount directly to the frame of your truck. So there should be very minimal drilling, if any at all, installing this custom bracket kit onto the frame of your trucks.
The weight resistant or the weight capacity is limited to that of your vehicle. So let's say your truck's rated at, oh, I don't know, 20K. Then, just because you add this, you cannot pull 30K if that gooseneck ball, let's say was rated at 30K. So keep in mind, your capacity of your vehicle is always gonna be whatever they rated it at from the factory. Now, folks, this is made in the USA, it's great American-made steel, it's a limited lifetime warranty. It's got a nice, beautiful, gray powder coat finish on it, it's gonna resist corrosion and rust. B&W's been around for ages. If you've had their products before, you know what great items they make. And also, the quality they go into with not only their checks and balances when they're making stuff, the tolerances, and making sure stuff fits right the first time. One year later and zero complaints. The hitch operates smoothly with no signs of wear. Still very pleased! My 5th wheel weighs in around 15,500lbs loaded and we even pull a golf cart trailer behind occasionally. I have no reservations using this hitch.

This is by far the best fifth wheel hitch I have ever used and I have used several. It’s very easy to hitch and unhitch and I don’t have to be perfectly lined up to hitch and unhitch. I highly recommend this product.
