Recommended B&W Companion Hitch and Installation Kit for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500

I have a solution for you but the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package item # BWRVK3715 doesn't fit the Chevy trucks before 2020 that don't have the puck system in the bed.

The first year of the GM Towing Prep Package was in 2016. To add a Companion 5th wheel hitch to your Silverado 3500 you will need the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches item # BWGNRK1012-5W. This fits both the 6-1/2' bed or 8' beds. The only restriction with this set up is you cannot use a pin box that changes the pivot point of your trailer's king pin, such as a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box.

I have attached an installation video along with a picture to show you what the Underbed Installation Kit looks like once installed.

With the Underbed Installation kit installed you can B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # BWRVK3500-5W or the B&W Companion Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W if you have a short bed truck.

The Companion's 1" thick dual jaws will give you a 360-degree jaw to kingpin contact. This system minimizes the chucking, jarring, and noise that can occur when towing a 5th wheel trailer. This not only provides a more secure connection but also a quieter more comfortable towing experience.

The Companion also has a cam-action latching handle that helps you to uncouple your trailer even if the terrain isn't level. The fully articulating head also helps to improve your ride quality while easing the effort put into hooking up to your trailer.

The B&W Companion Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W will give you 12" of travel from front to back to help with tight turns and backing into spaces.

Both of these hitches and all of B&W's products are made in the USA.

To make towing with a 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
