I have a 2022 Toyota Highlander without factory tow package. will the curt hitch C99FR still allow me to use the liftgate sensor?

Yes! I am happy to confirm that the Curt Hitch - 2" # C99FR will still allow you to use your hands-free liftgate sensor on your 2022 Toyota Highlander. Although, it is important to note that you will need to swing your foot at a greater range in order for it to activate the sensor.
If you plan on towing with the Curt hitch, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK99FR. The T-One comes with a better converter box than the Curt alternative harnesses. Also, I recommend a ball mount/ball like the ones included in the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45534. This kit also comes with a hitch cover and a compatible hitch pin for the Curt Hitch.
