Troubleshooting Curt Trailer Wiring on 2011 Dodge Journey that Left Tail Light Stays On
Question:
Couple years ago I purchased this curt c56154 wiring harness for my 2011 dodge journey. Yesterday after getting home I noticed my left turn signal light was still on after car was turned off. I then removed the bulb to prevent battery from going dead. After a little research on computer some one said it could be the curt module . I disconnected it and now everything is OK. This bulb was incadesent where as the break lights are leds. Could this have caused the problem since the unit is supposed to be for leds. Im afraid to order another one and have the same problem

What you described sounds like a shorted out converter box. What most likely happened is that your trailer wiring has a short in the wiring somewhere and it shorted out the converter box as what you described is characteristic of a shorted out converter box. What you will need to do is find and fix the short in the wiring and then replace the trailer wiring harness.
Look for any cut or exposed wiring and fix as needed. Corrosion can also be the culprit so you'd want to clean that up if you found it.
This harness can work fine with LED or incandescent trailer lights.
