Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2016 Dodge Journey

Hello. Why do you need all this fancy wiring harnesses for the newer vehicles for a simple trailer? 2 side lights and the rear tail lights.

For your 2016 Dodge Journey with LED lighting you would want the Curt trailer wiring harness part # C56330 . Modern vehicles use more delicate turn signal wiring setups that can't handle the amperage load of trailer wiring so you have to use harnesses like what I mentioned so that you can tap into the turn signals and then draw the power from the battery directly.
This harness actually installs pretty easily. It installs in line with your vehicle's wiring instead of requiring splicing.
