Modern LED lighting systems use delicate wiring that can’t always handle trailer load directly. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector uses a powered converter box that draws power straight from the vehicle’s battery. This isolates the vehicle’s circuits and keeps sensitive electronics safe from overloads or shorts coming from the trailer.
Traditional trailer wiring means cutting and tapping into factory wires, but this harness avoids that completely. It plugs inline at the tail light connectors, creating a direct link to your trailer lights without any wire cutting. The white ground wire mounts to a clean metal surface, and the converter box secures neatly behind the driver-side light with included tape.
To power the converter, the included 12V fused wire connects straight to the positive battery terminal. The kit comes with the fuse holder, connectors, and zip ties to route the wire safely along the frame. This setup provides reliable current for trailer lights while keeping your vehicle wiring protected.
The built-in 4-flat trailer connector gives you running lights, brake lights, and turn signals in one simple plug. It’s compatible with both LED and incandescent trailer lights, so once installed you’re ready to connect most small or mid-size trailers and hit the road with confidence.

I would when recommend double checking that the clips on the plugs are in good shape and to make as tight of connection as possible. Once the harness is installed it would be beneficial to use a tester like part # I26 to check the harness each time before towing.

Loved the product they were easy to install and have remained in good shape over a minnesota winter. However it did not survive a rear end collision. So I will be buying another shortly.
