Question:
Hello there folks. I know you heart his one a lot. I am building a tear camper. Im putting LED lights on it. I want to install a 7 pin plug on my car as well as electric brake controller. Is there a harness available to go from the dash mount controller to the 7 pin plug? I do have the tow package, do it has a flat four wire plug there now. What do I need to get and do to make my trailer brakes work?

Since your 2011 Dodge Journey already has a 4-Way flat trailer connector all you will need to add a brake controller is the brake controller itself and an installation kit that includes a 7-Way trailer connector.
There isn't a plug and play type of harness for the 2011 Dodge Journey because the vehicle isn't set up for it even if it has the factory tow package. This means there is a little hardwiring required.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2, # 90885, because it's easy to set up and use and it's reliable.
For the 7-Way and installation kit all you will need is # ETBC7. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you. The video is a different vehicle but the process for the ETBC7 is the same on all vehicles. Once the installation is complete you will be good to go!
