Question:

I have a 2018 Dodge Journey and just put on the 56109 curt harnesss. Very easy and fast install. I have the regular ulbs, not he led bulbs. Here is my problem. When I hook up the trailer to the plug my driver sid parking lights go off after a few seconds on the car and the trailer. Thinking the trailer ligths were bad I bought a new light kit and completely rewired the trailer. Of course my luck still have the same problem. Help me please.

The most common issue we have with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56109 on a 2018 Dodge Journey is an insufficient ground. Therefore, I recommend that you remove the ground for this harness, sand down the surface, and then reattach. This should fix your issue but if it does not then check the pins inside the driver side plug to make sure they are not bent or broken.

If the issue still occurs after the ground has been reattached and the driver side plug has been checked then please send me a photo of the tail light bulbs for your tail lights. I know we have had issues in the past with this same problem and the customers thought they had incandescents but they were in fact LED bulbs so they needed to use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole part # C56330.
