So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

A must have .just wish I had got my trans cooler from etrailer they are a great company .so if you gonna put a trans cooler own you GM truck take my word for it you best go to trailer! Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.
Installed and working perfectly.

by:

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • Should a Transmission Cooler Go After the Factory Cooler on a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
The recommended flow path when adding a supplemental transmission cooler like # D13502 is from the transmission to the factory cooler, then to the supplemental cooler, and finally back to the transmission. You may also need an additional fitting to avoid cutting and flaring lines. The correct fitting depends on the engine in your truck. If you have a 4.3 liter or 8.1 liter, use fitting # D13018. For any other engine size use # D13035. I have included some links on transmission coolers for you.

  • WhichTransmission Cooler Fittings for a 2007 GMC Truck
I spoke with my contact at the manufacturer and he said that there are 3 main types of fittings that GM used during that year and that it was more or less random for the GM trucks so you may need any one of the three types. The three types are the fittings that were used are the fitting supplied with the cooler, a snap in style fitting, item # D13035, and the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, item # D13018. I believe the last style of fitting is the fitting your truck will need....

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2007 Cadillac Escalade
When towing a trailer, especially when there are hills or mountains, you will be wise to add a transmission cooler. For your 2007 Cadillac Escalade, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets # D13503. For this installation you will also want the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035 if you have the snap in transmission line or the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM # D13018 if you have the threaded fittings on your Escalade....

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 6.0 L Engine
A supplemental transmission cooler would definitely help your transmission last as long as possible. As you may know, heat is the enemy for transmissions. The Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler part # D13504 that you referenced would be an excellent choice for you. I would recommend you run this in conjunction with your factory cooler to maximize cooling efficiency. You would to run the output of your factory cooler to the # D13504 and then the output side of the cooler back to your...

  • How to Remove the Snap-In Radiator Fitting for a Transmission Cooler on a 2000 Chevy Express Van
You will need to get a small pick and pull the o-ring out to be able to remove the snap-in fitting. An auto parts store should be able to get you a replacement o-ring. You could also use the special fittings for a 200 Chevy Express Van, # D13018, so you do not have to cut and flare lines.

  • Are Special Fittings Required to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 1996 GMC Yukon 5.7L 4x4
It looks like for a 1996 GMC Yukon with 4-wheel drive and the 5.7 liter motor you will need fittings # D13018 to install the transmission cooler without having to cut and flare any lines. I have linked a video showing installation of a cooler you can use as a guide.

  • Recommended Transmission Coolers and Programmer For a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD 6.0L 4L80E
First I recommend getting a Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner # EP39YR for your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD. This will allow you to get more power to make towing easier on your Silverado and will also allow you to more accurately monitor temperatures on your engine and transmission. For your transmission I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504. This is a large plate cooler which will help to lower transmission temperatures when towing....

  • Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Combination Cooer for a 2006 Chevy Avalanche
for a remote combination oil and transmission fluid cooler I recommend # D15230. You will also need installation kit # D13006 and oil cooler kit # D15752. This is a thermostatic oil cooler kit so the thermostat will be associated with the engine oil temperature and it will activate once the temperature reaches 180 degrees so it will be perfect for your application. To make installation of the transmission cooler part I recommend adding fitting # D13035 for the 5.3 liter motor or # D13018...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2006 Chevy 2500HD 4L80E Transmission
Good call trying to reduce your transmission fluid temperatures. The cooler the fluid is the longer the transmission will last. The best way to pick out the best cooler for a vehicle is to measure the area in front of the radiator/ac condenser and select the largest cooler to fit there. It also helps to get a stacked plate style cooler as they are the most efficient and pretty small in size. I attached a link to a page that has all of the stacked plate coolers we offer. • Fitting Adapter Needed to Install Remote Derale Transmission Cooler in 2004 Chevy Silverado
The correct fitting for installing a Derale transmission cooler in your 2004 Chevy Silverado is the part # D13018 to install the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13960. This cooler has a thermostat as well. You would want to route this from your current radiator's transmission cooler so that it goes through the factory cooler and then finally to this cooler. That is what the fitting allows you to easily do.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 6.0 Liter
Adding a supplemental cooler is a good idea, but you do not have to replace the factory one unless there is something wrong with it. You can add an additional cooler to work with the factory cooler for the optimum amount of cooling. When looking at transmission coolers I recommend going with the largest one that will fit in the available space in the engine compartment. There are 3 main locations a cooler can go: the most efficient is in front of the air conditioner condenser core/directly...

Along with this cooler you will need the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM , item # D13018, if your TrailBlazer has the 6.0 Liter engine or the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM , item # D13035, if your engine is the 4.2 or 5.3 liter. • 1999 Chevy C3500 Transmission Will Not Shift Into Overdrive While Towing
Overdrive is not usually something that you would need to use when towing. Also if your truck has a tow/haul button that you press when towing then it likely shuts off overdrive. If this is something new the truck started doing then there are some things to look at. The first thing I recommend doing is checking the transmission fluid level for your 1999 Chevy C3500. If the fluid is low then it might not have enough cooling power. If the fluid is full and looks good then the cooler you...

If you find that you have enough clearance there to install the # D13105 cooler, then it would work well for you. The male end of the Derale Radiator Adapter part # D13018 that you referenced does thread into the outlet side of the factory cooler in your radiator. Your 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 most likely has the GM 6L80 transmission. On this transmission, the bottom line on the transmission should be the return line (based on some research I did online for this transmission). You should be able to install the transmission cooler like you have described provided you have enough hose to reach. • Transmission Cooler for Towing 5300 lb Trailer in the Mountains for 2007 Chevy Silverado 5.3L

You cannot over cool a transmission. The ideal install location would be in front of the radiator and A/C condenser, right behind the grille. The # D13102 you mentioned will provide some cooling, but due to the fact that you will be towing up and down mountains, it would be too small for your needs. The largest...

A lot of people do this and it should help bring your transmission fluid temperatures down. The Derale cooler part # D13503 with the install fitting part # D13018 is the most popular option for your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 and would work well.
