  • Where Does a Brake Controller Plug In on a 2014 Coachman Leprechaun Class C on Ford E-450 Chassis
  • The port to plug in a brake controller on a Ford E-450 van chassis using harness # 3034-P is located to the left of the brake pedal and forward towards the lower left corner of the floorboards. I have linked a video that should help. For a brake controller I recommend a proportional model for the best and safest braking. You can use the Primus # TK90160 which has the same internal parts as the original Prodigy. I have linked a video review of the Primus for you.

  • Relay and Fuse Locations for a Brake Controller on a Jayco RV Built on Ford E-450 Chassis
  • I wasn't certain which year E-450 chassis the motor home was built on so I checked online copies of the owner's manuals for 2013 and 2014. According to the manual in the fuses section the brake controller fuse is in location 18 in the power distribution box and location 33 in the in-cab fuse box. I did not see anything about a relay though. I am not sure if the RV cutaway models are different so you will need to check your owner's manual to confirm.

  • Since your 2013 Ford E 250 Cargo Van is not equipped with a tow package, you would need to start by installing a 4-way connector like the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # C56020. This connector plugs directly into your existing wiring with no cutting or splicing required. Next you will need a 7-way connector. The Universal Installation Kit, # ETBC7, kit includes the wiring and accessories needed to install the 7-way connector and a trailer brake controller in your cargo van. Last...

  • I checked with Tow Ready about 7-Way connector # 118261 and it is not a confirmed fit for the 2013 Ford E-250 van. Since there are no other options and since you have some factory wiring already, I recommend using 4 and 7-Way connector # HM40975 with harness # PK11998. You will need to test the wiring on the vehicle end with a circuit tester such as # 3808 to determine the functions. Then you can install the harness accordingly: Red - Left Turn and Stop White - Ground Blue - Electric...
