Hey Daniel!

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13138, Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55384, and etrailer Ball Mount # e67DR are all compatible with each other and are all a fit for your 2005 Ford Ranger XLT.

The # 13138 is custom fit to all 2005 Ford Rangers, including your XLT, and there is no drilling required for the installation so this is something that you can install in a driveway with basic tools and a set of extra hands. It's rated for up to 4,000 lbs of towing capacity and 400 lbs of tongue weight, but check your owner's manual for the actual towing capacity that the truck is rated for.

The # C55384 is a plug-and-play wiring harness, so it's a very simple install, provided that you actually have this plug. It's specified to fit 2005 Ford Rangers with a factory trailer connector so you will need to check behind your bumper for a plug that would match with either of the plugs pictured below. If you don't have the factory connection, you will have to add it back into your vehicle by installing a Curt Universal Wiring Harness # C56229, which will give you a full connection into the wiring harness.

From there, the # C55384 will provide a 4-way connection that allows you to tow a trailer with only running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. Trailers with brakes will need to use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55774 instead, because this harness provides both a 7-way connector and a 4-way connector, and that 7-way will provide the additional connections to the electric brakes, 12V power, and reverse lights on the trailer. You will also need a brake controller to operate the electric brakes on a trailer.

Finally, the shank on our # e67DR is 2", which is compatible with the # 13138 trailer hitch, but you'll want to confirm the size of the coupler on your trailer. The # e67DR has a 2" ball installed on it, which is the most common ball size, but there is also a 2-5/16" option, # e27DR. You'll want to measure the difference in height between the center of the hitch receiver and the coupler on your truck, and if it's between 0"-5", then the 2" drop on this ball will work for you and that will round out your tow package.

What do you plan on hauling with your Ranger once you get all of your parts?
