Updated 08/27/2026 | Published 08/18/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Ecodiesel 4dr Rubicon, im looking for a full flat tow system. Right now in have a class A with air brakes and a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 controller but will be selling in a year or 2, an overlander like a ford 550 or dodge 5500 slide in, so i dont want a system for air brakes. Can you send me a list for a system that will work on my current Entegra Cornerstone and my next system behind a regular 5500?

Hey David, thanks for reaching out. Sure can! Here are the parts I recommend for flat towing your 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon EcoDiesel 4 door:

- etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e98948

- etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,500 lbs # e94ZR

- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

- Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Proportional # BLU37TR

- 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332

That will cover all the main components. One important thing to note is the # RM-15267 diode kit is for vehicles without ParkSense (the thing that beeps when you back up). If your Jeep has ParkSense, you'll need part # RM63MR instead of # RM-15267.

Also, the # e98948 base plate is for models with the standard factory plastic bumper. If you have a different bumper just let me know.

A portable brake system is definitely the way to go here. It's easy to set up and it'll work on both air brake and hydraulic brake RV's. So there will be no problems when you do end up upgrading the motorhome. The rest of the parts will transfer over as well.

You also may end up needing a drop hitch # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your RV. Any difference of more than 3" will require a drop hitch. Keep in mind the tow bar does have 2" of height adjustability built into the shank.

I also recommend grabbing a cover # e76FV and a hitch lock # e98881 to protect your tow bar - especially if you plan to store it on the back of the motorhome.

That'll cover everything. Overall, this will be a solid flat tow setup that will make connecting everything very straightforward.

Where will you be heading first, once you get everything set up?

Hello David, we added the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit on our Gladiator and went with the RViBrake tow vehicle brake system and it has worked very well.

Hey David I added the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit on our Jeep Rubicon along with the RViBrake shadow tow vehicle brake system. This year we have travel from NC to Alaska with no issues. Connecting and disconnecting was very simple and fast.
