When Should I Torque MORryde CRE3000 Suspension Bolts?

Updated 08/12/2026 | Published 08/11/2026

Question:

Hello, I am installing new leaf springs, morryde cre3000, morryde shackle kit, and one single morryde X factor for center hanger. I don’t plan to do the final torque until everything is back on the wheels supported by its own weight. My question is should I roll the trailer back and forth a few times as well or just sitting back on the tires is enough to ensure everything is as it should be. Then rechecking the torque at suggested mileage according to directions is all that’s required. Thank you.

Hey Braden, thanks for reaching out. That's exactly how I'd do it. Leave everything just snug enough to hold it together while you're installing the springs, CRE3000, shackles, and X-Factor. Once the trailer is back on the ground supporting its own weight, roll it forward and backward a few feet. That lets the suspension settle into its natural position and takes any twist or bind out of the bushings and equalizers.

After that, torque all of the spring eye bolts and shackle bolts to MORryde's specs. Then tow it 50 to 100 miles and give everything another torque check. That's all it takes. It'll help ensure the new components seat properly and everything stays tight.

All that said, here is a list of the parts you'll need:

- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps # MR46ZR

Or if your trailer currently uses 3-1/8" long shackles use # MR76ZR instead.

For the CRE3000 you'll need part # MR87ZR for 33" wheelbase, or # MR27ZR for 35" wheelbase.

Then the X-factor crossmember is part # MR33WR.

I see you already got leaf springs on order so just grab some new U-bolt kits # CE23002 and that will cover everything.

What kind of trailer do you have?

My trailer came with MORryde from the factory. It is a quality trailer with quality parts. They do wear out though, so I replaced them with a like item.
