Question:
I have a technical question. I have a 2017 Ram 2500 raised 1.1 inches in rear and leveled in the front. Im interested in a weigh safe weight distribution hitch. Im not sure which one would be best for my use? Im pulling a 2026 Grand Design Reflection 345RLTS 11,995 GVWR 1400LB hitch weight. I wasnt sure about which i would need and weight capacity. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the information Matt and congrats on your new trailer! For your 12,000 lbs Grand Design Reflection, I recommend the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch item # WS24RR for a 2" hitch or item # WS37RR for a 2-1/2" hitch receiver.
This system is going to be perfect for a 1,400 lbs tongue weight and the built in scale will help you play around with how you load your trailer. So long as you stay under the 1,850 lbs tongue weight limit you'll be good and at the same time not feel stiff or overrated.
The Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch item # WS24RR for a 2" hitch or item # WS37RR for a 2-1/2" hitch have built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your Ram 2500 when you're going down the highway and make a sudden lane change or get passed by a semi. It's really helpful when you get sideswiped by a gust of wind too. These systems include either a 2" or 2-1/2" shank with a 8" drop, a lifting tool for the arms, and a 2-5/16" hitch ball. The 8" drop will give you plenty of adjustability and account for the extra lift in the rear.
Please note you will need room on your Grand Design's coupler between 27" - 32" back from where the hitch ball mounts. This is for the sway control brackets.
What size hitch does your Ram 2500 have and have you gotten a chance to enjoy your new trailer? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
