Which Weigh Safe Weight Distribution for Towing Grand Design 25G
Updated 03/16/2026 | Published 03/03/2026 >
Question:
Hello I’m picking up a new grand design 25g and shopping for a hitch. The tongue weight is going to be about 1500 dry weight. And max trailer weight of 13,000 although I will never load it that heavy. What size weight safe distribution hitch would be correct for this trailer? Thank you

Hey Eric, the Weigh Safe True Tow part # WS37RR that you referenced would be your best option for a weight distribution system for your Grand Design 25G. What are you towing the Grand Design with and does it have a 2.5 inch hitch?

These hitches are sturdy, but here is something I didn't know before I got this one. When you get the tongue weight dialed in to what they recommend, you'll be suprised how much weight the scales shows...it will be about 2x your actual hit weight. The result is 3 things: it's sturdy, it makes the bars very hard to get on and off, and you'll need to replace your hitch ball every 2 years or so because it will wear very fast under that weight. YMMV.
