Recommended Parts to Flat Tow a 2026 Ford Maverick Behind a Flat Tow Prepped Spartan K2 Chassis

Updated 08/13/2026 | Published 08/05/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a 2027 Newmar Ventana on the Spartan K2 Chassis with air hookup on bumper. I am getting a 2026 Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD to flat tow. I already own a Falcon All-Terrain non-binding towbar. 1. Is this towbar adequate for the new toad? 2. What all will I need to flat tow the new toad? Prefer the Air Force One Break. 3. Where would you suggest I get it all installed? Zip code is 49829 but know I will have to travel to get the work done. Thank you

Congrats on all the new toys David! The Falcon All-Terrain Non-Binding tow bar will be more than sufficient for your 2026 Ford Maverick.

Here are the rest of the parts you'll need to flat tow your 2026 Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD behind your prepped 2027 Newmar Ventana:

Safety Cables - Roadmaster 64" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables - 8,000 lbs item # RM-645

Baseplate Kit - Roadmaster Direct-Connect item # RM87NQ

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267. If you held onto your 7-way to 6-way cable from your last flat tow, you'll just need the RoadMaster 6-Wire Trailer Connector item # RM-910030-7, Socket Bracket item # RM-910030-5, and the Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit item # RM-152.

Supplemental Braking System - Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for Spartan K2 Chassis item # DM54YV - This will plug directly into the air port on the back of your Newmar with the included jumper cable.

Charge Line - Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Line Kit for Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking Systems item # DM66VR. This is the easiest and least expensive way to add the required charge line because it routes through the Demco Air Force One item # DM54YV.

High/Low Adapter - 4" Rise/Drop etrailer High-Low Fixed Adapter for Tow Bars item # e25ZV

As far as installers go you where not joking when you said you needed to travel to find one. You're all the way up in the UP. What you'll want to do is go to the Demco item # DM54YV product page and scroll down below the pics on the left side you'll see a box that says, SCHEDULE AN INSTALLATION. Go ahead and click on it and it will take you to a page where you'll be able to enter your zip code. Once you do this you'll be connected to our network of reputable installers that are closest to you.

Where do you plan on traveling once you get the Maverick all setup to flat tow? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

The AirForce One with Newmars is an awesome choice. After buying my rig I learned that the engine brake on Newmars light up the brake lights. I had a RoadMaster InvisiBrake installed in my TOAD, but on mountain grades Newmar always triggering the brake lights when the engine brake kicks in just made for a very undesirable ower experience. Given Newmar pre-installs the air braking system and airhose connector and the AireForce One performs proportional braking based how how much I press down on the brake pedal, I have been very happy since I replaced my previous braking system. You will be glad you did it vs other systems triggered by the tail brake lights.

@Markl That's some great feedback Mark. Thank you so much for coming back and sharing it. Those Demco Air Force One setups for the prepped motorhomes have been such a game changer. Glad you're enjoying it!

I installed the air force one braking system on my toad. If you have a little mechanical ability you can install yourself. My toad is a 2022 Toyota 4 Runner and I have not had any problems with the system.

Thanks Jarred, I just placed the order. It looks like some of the items are not in stock so I will be searching for an installer while I wait for the items. (Unless I re-watch the videos and decide to take it on myself. ) Thanks again! Dave
