Parts Needed To Install Brake Controller on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
Will I need anything else besides the brake control and wiring harness to get the brakes working on a trailer Im going to rent. The truck has the prewired plug under the dash that I have located. Is it as easy as plugging it in, mounting it, and a few adjustments of the brake pressure? Has 7 way. Thank You!

Since your 2005 Dodge Ram has the factory installed 7-Way, to install a brake controller you will just need the brake controller itself and the proper wiring harness to plug it into your Ram.
If you go with the Curt Venturer, # C74VV, the only other part you will need is wiring harness # C51332. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
The wiring harness plugs into a connector already on your vehicle. The connector is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, and it is taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. I have also linked our help article on brake controllers and Dodge Ram trucks for you which includes photos of the location of the connector beneath the dash.
