How To Attach Swivel Brackets To Bunk Boards?

Updated 07/29/2026 | Published 07/24/2026

Question:

Hello I am interested in purchasing the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 5 Long - 1 Pair Part Number: CE27820 to replace my old bunk boards. In addition to needing 4 of the Tie Down Swivel Top Angle Bracket for Boat Bunk Boards - 3-1/2 Long, what bolts do you recommend to attach the bunk to the bracket? I will use the existing bolts to attach the bracket to the trailer.

Hi Christopher!

I can definitely help you with getting the Tie Down Swivel Top Angle Bracket for Boat Bunk Boards - 3-1/2" Long # TD44FR attached to the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 5' Long - 1 Pair # CE27820.

I recommend using something like the Stainless Steel Hex Lag Screw - 3/8" # FA74521. This is stainless steel, so it will resist corrosion extremely well (which is important with a boat trailer). However, it is expensive for what it is. If I were installing something like what you are, I would just go to a local hardware store to get some zinc plated screws for attaching the boards. All you need to do is make sure they are less than 1-3/4" long as that is how thick the CE Smith boards are.

What kind of boat are you carrying? And where do you typically launch?
