  • Recommended Placement of Bunk Boards on Bayliner Capri 1950
After completing a very thorough image search online, it appears that the most common bunk placement is about 2/3 of the way between the keel and the ridge that runs along the side of the hull. Rather than on end, most of the bunks I saw had the board meeting the hull on the flat. This disperses more of the weight of the boat along the bunk. The # CE27820 bunk boards you mentioned would be perfect. I'd also recommend using # CE10001G-4 bunk brackets and # CE15283GA-4 Galvanized u-bolts.

  • Will A Stryker LX 360 Air Boat Fit On CE Smith Multi Sport Boat Trailer CE48810?
Since your Stryker LX 360 inflatable boat is 11'7" long x 5'6" wide it will fit on the CE Smith Multi Sport Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks - 8" Wheels - 12' Boat - 800 lbs # CE48810 you were looking at and have the motor/transom completely on the bunks, but the front half of the boat will not be. The bunks are only 4-1/2' wide so you will have about 6" overhang on each side of the trailer. You will just want to move the winch mount forward until it is in the correct location for you to...

  • Recommended U-Bolts for Bracket Replacement on Boat Trailer With 3x3 Frame
For U-bolts for your 3" x 3" frame you will want something that is slightly larger. If the measurements were listed as exactly 3" it isn't going to fit. What you need is the CE Smith U-Bolts - Galvanized - 3-13/16" Long x 3-1/16" Wide x 1/2" Diameter # CE15283GA. These U-bolts are the right size for your frame with a 3-1/16" width. They come in various quantities depending on your needs. 2 Bolts # CE15283GA-2 4 Bolts # CE15283GA-4 8 Bolts # CE15283GA-8 I have attached a review video for...

  • How Long of Lag Bolts Should I Use w/ the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies?
Hey Jeff. The CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies item # CE10000G-4 are going to need a 3-1/16" wide on the inside u-bolt that has threads that go down to at least 1-1/2" from the inside of the bolt. The 3-13/16" Long x 3-1/16" Wide CE Smith U-Bolts item # CE15283GA-4, you were looking at aren't going to work with a 1-1/2" wide frame member. The threads don't go down far enough. You'll need to source those u-bolts elsewhere as we do not have any that will work. The 1-1/4" long...

  • Roller Bunks and Brackets for 5.2 meter Fiberglass Cabin Boat
Hey Garry, we have 5 foot long roller bunk sections like the part # CE27710 as well as 4 foot sections like part # CE27700. You'd want to order a quantity of both that would get you to the 5.2 meter length of your hull that matches the best. Then for a set of swivel brackets you'd want the part # CE10003G-4 for a set of 4 and for u-bolts to mount them part # CE15283GA-4 would be a great solution.

If you want the 4 foot option, you can use # CE27700. This will work with the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks - Galvanized Steel - Qty 4 # CE10003G-4. • Parts Needed to Convert a Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunks
In order to switch from rollers to bunks, you will need to remove the rollers that you are no longer using. I do not see a reason why you can't continue to use the front rollers. You would just want bunks that stop a little but before the front rollers so they do not interfere with each other. You would need to get the bunk boards, swivel brackets and u-bolts for installing the bunk boards. You will need to measure to determine the correct length of bunk board that fits between the middle...

  • Parts Needed to Convert a Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunk Boards
This can absolutely be done. While there are not "kits" for doing the conversion, we do have the parts that you will need. These are not kitted together because each boat/trailer combination is different, so it is easier to not kit them. It is recommended to have bunk boards that are at least 50% of the length of your boat. You can have longer boards if you would like, but you want at minimum 50% of the length. Since your boat is 21', you will want bunks that are at least 10.5' long. I...

  • Replacement Hydraulic Brake Actuator and Drum Brakes for Karavan Trailer
The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR you looked at will be a great replacement for your Karavan trailer. This matches the gross towing weight of the original brake actuator and mounts on a 3" wide trailer tongue. It also features the EZ-Latch coupler mechanism for a simple hookup and a 120-hour salt spray rating. Your trailer came with galvanized 10" free backing brake assemblies. For a replacement I recommend the Demco Hydraulic Brake Kit # 40716-15. These brake assemblies have...

  • Can I Use Roller Bunks and Carpeted Bunk Boards Together on Boat Trailer
I'll start off by saying that I've seen quite a few boat trailers that use a combination of rollers like the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 6 Rollers Each - 5' Long - 1,500 lbs - 1 Pair # CE27710 and a carpeted bunk like the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 7' Long - 1 Pair # CE27845. • Converting Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunk Boards
For the bunks I recommend using two sets of the 5' CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27820, or you'd like to get your own wooden boards you can wrap them in Marine-Grade Carpeting # CE11349. To install the boards, you will need a pair of Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10001G-4 per board, which are 11", as well as a pair of U-Bolt Kits # CE15283GA-4. I've added links to video reviews of these parts for you to check out as well.

  • Roller Bunks For 8 Foot Long Bunk Boards on Jet Ski Trailer
Since you have 8 foot wooden bunks already, you can indeed just mount the roller bunks directly to the wooden bunks with 3/8" lag screws, and you're correct you'd need four of the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 4' Long # CE27700. The lag screws are something you'd have to pick up at your hardware store, and that's the route I'd go since it's just easier overall (and just as safe) than removing your current bunks. But if you're more comfortable removing your current bunk boards...

If you don't have adjustable brackets then you would need to remove the bunk boards and install new brackets like the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks # CE10003G-4. While there is no specific kit for switching your 98 Shoreland'r from rollers to bunks, it should be relatively straight forward. It looks like your rollers should be bolted on, so you should be able to remove those and then add bunks. You will need CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27820, CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10001G-4 and CE Smith U-Bolts # CE15283GA-4.
