Looking For Jack For Utility Trailer That Is 15" Or Less Retracted

Updated 05/08/2026 | Published 05/06/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a small utility trailer that I am looking to add a jack. The tongue has very short clearance. I would need the jack to be 15 inches or less retracted. Is there such a thing? Thanks Ken

Hey Ken, thanks for reaching out. Yes, that is a thing. For example, the etrailer Boat Trailer Jack # MJ-1500B-DWL is only 12-5/8" tall retracted. It extends up to 23" and it swivels sideways so you can store it during travel. It will fit really any trailer frame between 2" and 4" tall. It also has a dual caster wheel which helps with stability.

What kind of trailer is it? What do you usually haul in it?

Usually I just haul my lawn mower but I have been known to move furniture.

@KennethH Ok nice. Nothing too heavy then. Yea the # MJ-1500B-DWL jack I mentioned sounds like it will work great for that. I'd just confirm the frame size and you'll be good to go.
