My 2020 Grand Design Solitude has a Airxcel 48000 series air conditioner that is rusting out. What is the replacement?

Welcome back Carol. To replace a Airxcel 48000 series AC unit, I recommend the 15,000 Btu Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup item # FR32PV or the 13,500 Btu item # FR62PV. Since your AC is part of the Coleman-Mach lineup these would be great replacement options depending on what Btu yours is.
The 15,000 btu Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner item # FR32PV or the 13,500 Btu item # FR62PV unit include a custom fit wiring adapter that will plug directly into your Coleman air distribution box. You'll be able to operate the unit using your existing thermostat as well. It has the older refrigerant in it so this will be a simple swap out. We are down to our last few item # FR32PV and item # FR62PV so once these are gone we won't get anymore in.
Your Airxcel 48000 series air conditioner has the now obsolete 410a refrigerant in it. The EPA changed the regulations on the refrigerant in the AC units at the beginning of 2025. They've been upgraded to R32 and none of the 410a components are compatible now with the newer systems.
