The magnets are a common/generic switch in the RV industry. Some magnets close the circuit when door is closed, others closed, (complete), the circuit when the door is open. The magnets are color coded (white, or black). Depending upon when circuit is completed. Install is super easy.

I had trouble with my step I replaced the module and fixed ground wires still work sometimes. I finally remembered that magnets are used to activate steps I checked the magnets barely hold a paper clip I added a sticky back magnet stuck to step magnet step work every time. So yes these step switch works perfectly
