Looking For A Replacement Water Heater For My Current F2GWH

Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 01/22/2026

Question:

I need to replace on my 2023 FR Grey Wolf 26DJSE the F2GWH water heater. It appears I can use the FR93FR, correct? The rough opening is about 13x13 and depth is probably similar at 19. Has a different control module but thats probably a 2 wire direct plug or splice to update inside the camper.

Hey Keith,

The Furrion Tankless # FR93FR will fit into that cutout you have and be a good replacement. The water heater itself is 12-5/6 x 12-5/8 fitting nicely into your 13 x13 cutout. The depth of the heater itself is 19-1/4 which should fit nicely. In terms of the control module, this Furrion water heater also uses a 2 wire installation. It will need to be spliced in since it is not a direct plug, but I will attach the installation instructions below for you to get a better idea of the install.

Where are you headed to next after this upgrade? Any big trips planned?

Found I had ruptured copper line just before heading to Florida for a month. Using campground showers and I just put plugs on lines to bypass the leaky heaters. Got the cold for toilet, etc and heat kettle water for dishes

@KeithN Well that is a way to work around, but I know you are definitely wanting that replaced here soon. That Furrion will work well for you.

The water heater install was relatively easy. The only thing that I can add is to make sure you winterize as described in the trailer instructions. I actually blow it out with an air compressor at a below 15 lbs pressure. My original waterheater was damaged from water freezing and consequently splitting the heater core. The heater core is not repairable.

The Furrion is a great replacement. Just be aware that any issue must be reported so you can get a warranty replacement if necessary. The first Furrion I had kept giving me no propane errors. I didn't realize that it was a bad sensor until it failed completely, after the warranty was expired. The replacement has been trouble free. . I love that you have total control of the temperature!

@TomC That is a great point Tom, making sure to take care of it if anything goes bad and they will cover it under warranty! I am glad you are liking it yourself.

Keith: I installed into a lance truck camper. Careful to orient up correctly, since basically square I 1st installed sideways, it will not run, had to re-install (not a problem, but time). Works great, I did have to splice the wires, no connector. Also careful with the propane connection, it must fit perfectly (as with all propane connections); easy to leak. In my case I had to cut the pipe, re-flare it to get it working.
