Can the 7way and the 4way be used simultaneously?

They sure can Craig! The covers open the opposite direction on the TowSmart ProClass Trailer Connector item # TS49RR, allowing you to connect both a 7-way and a 4-way wiring harness.
Please note that you will still be limited amperage wise by the towing circuit you connect the ProClass Trailer Connector item # TS49RR to. If you are just running low draw LED accessories like an LED tailgate light bar or hitch step light with the 4-way, while your main trailer is plugged into the 7-way, you'll be good.
What kind of trailer do you have and what do you plan on plugging into the 4-way?
