Hitch Extender with Anti Rattle Device for Use with Kuat Transfer V2
Published 06/09/2026 >
Question:
I own a 2025 Leisure Travel Van Unity and I bought a Kuat Transfer V2 for two bikes. Our bike is hitting the back of our RV with the Kuat Transfer rack so we couldn’t use the rack as is. Can I use an 8 inch hitch extender for my situation? The Kuat site says that the hitch pin can not be further than 64 inches from the rear axel and I believe this dimension on our Unity is a little longer than 64 inches so I’m thinking we can’t use the 8 inch extender on our Kuat bike rack. Please let me know your thoughts.

Hey Eric, we do have to recommend you stick with what Kuat recommends when using their bike racks so that you don't void any warranties. But with that said I am sure people have used hitch extenders like the RockyMounts part # RKY10011 in situations like yours where they need a bit more clearance and everything was fine. I really like this particular extender because of the anti-rattle device built into it. What kind of bikes are you carrying?

Or, do you sell cargo carrier for trailer hitches that can hold two foldable e-bikes. If so, do you have any recommendations and the foldable e-bikes that will fit your cargo carrier

Okay, thanks. Im guessing we’d be okay but I don’t I’m a little hesitant adding the extender. Do you sell a bike rack for RVs with a longer shank that might work for us.
