Trailer Hitch for 2023 Toyota Sienna XLE With Kick Sensor
Updated 06/03/2026 | Published 05/28/2026 >
Question:
I have a Toyota Sienna XLE. I would like a 2 hitch installed. I would like a hitch that will still allow me open the tailgate by tapping the back underneath the bumper. Which hitch es? would you recommend? They all seem to install the same way, but I dont want to lose the tailgate feature. Also, is there one that allows more ground clearance than another? Thank you, John.

Hey John! The best option for your 2023 Sienna is the TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver # TS82VR. This has the best ground clearance, and will have the same impact on the kick sensor as the other options.
Each of the hitches will partially block the sensor but you won't completely lose functionality. All you have to do is place your foot on either side of the receiver to activate the hands free sensor.
What will you be using the hitch for?

I think the most I would be Towing is maybe a 5 x 10‘ trailer with a snowblower on it. I also put a cargo carry-on there with a few cans of gas. Or some bikes. Nothing very heavy. Do you happen to offer any type of military discount? I just wanna confirm it also comes with the six bolts for attaching it to the vehicle. I also want to thank you for your reply. I’ve been looking forward to hearing from you on what your recommendation is for a trailer hitch.
