Recommended Air Distribution Box w/a Built-In Thermostat for R32 Advent Air RV Air Conditioners

Updated 05/30/2026 | Published 05/26/2026

Question:

I bought an ACR135 model for a 2017 RV. Im thinking I should have done more research because I think I need an assembly kit now. Is that true can you recommend the proper conversion? Of course old unit was lower R rating. My full question is - will the assembly kit fixinch my problem or do I need to do something more to bring it up to the R32?

Hey Shawn! The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner item # ADV96SR you purchased has the new R32 refrigerant in it so you are going to need a new air distribution box.

I recommend the Air Distribution Box item # ADV48SR. This one is set up for a ductless orientation where the air exits directly below the AC unit through vents in the box. It has a built-in thermostat and controls for the fan and temperature settings. It'll connect directly to the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner item # ADV96SR.

The EPA changed the regulations on the refrigerant in the AC units at the beginning of 2025. They've been upgraded to R32 so anything before then has the now obsolete 410a refrigerant. None of the 410a components are compatible now with the newer R32 systems. You will be able to use the existing wiring to power the AC system.

What kind of trailer do you have?
