After a long drive or a full day in the sun, this 15,500 Btu system cools your RV without long, uneven cooldown cycles. It fits larger trailers and RV interiors where higher cooling capacity keeps temperatures from lingering.
After a long drive or a full day parked in the sun, your RV can hold heat in the roof, walls, furniture, and cabinets well into the evening. This 15,500 Btu air conditioner delivers 430 CFM of airflow to help bring cabin temperatures down and keep cooled air moving, so the interior feels more comfortable when it is time to relax.
A good rooftop AC install needs more than cold air. It also needs a solid seal where the unit meets the roof. The thick, collapsible gasket helps block rain and hot outside air from entering through the opening, while the foam pads help cushion the unit and reduce vibration at the mounting point. That helps the AC run securely while keeping the cabin drier and quieter.
In a non-ducted RV, cooled air comes straight from the ceiling assembly instead of traveling through ductwork. The included AACNDC air distribution box has adjustable louvers on the front and back so you can move air across the cabin. That gives you more control over where the cool air goes in the area where the AC is mounted. The removable, washable air filter traps dust and debris before it reaches the fan blades to keep you AC unit cleaner.

This system keeps the controls simple by building the thermostat into the air distribution box, so there is no separate wall thermostat to mount or wire. The flat touch-control panel lets you adjust mode, fan speed, and temperature right from the ceiling assembly, making it a straightforward setup for non-ducted RVs where the cooled air comes directly from the unit.
Replacing a rooftop AC is easier when the main pieces are designed to work together. This system uses a bolt-on installation and includes the wiring harness needed to connect the rooftop unit to the air distribution box. Once installed, the uv-resistant hard plastic cover can be removed for maintenance and cleaning, so you can access the unit when it needs attention. Some camping setups ask more from your AC than others, especially when you are running on generator or campsite power. The optional start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) can be added to help the compressor start more reliably. The air distribution box is also prewired for the optional heat strip (ADV34QR) which can help take the chill out of the air on cool mornings. These upgrades are not included, but they give you a way to build out the system for the way you camp.
Ratings & Reviews
This unit replaced an older Duo-Therm 13.5K BTU unit on our 1987 Avion, over the center kitchen. It was almost identical, a little narrower in length and width (the roof part). It installed easily and works great!
(I contacted Advent this morning to suggest they use additional packing material inside the shipping box to withstand rough handling during shipment.)
So far I'm happy with the performance. Just installed and ran it for 15 minutes. The only issue was the mounting bolts were a hair short. I have a deep roof on my 2017 Springdale 5th wheel I guess. I had to cut the mounting bolts and use barrel nuts to extend their reach as they were a couple threads short to catch. I searched everywhere and etrailer had the best price.
Install was good, wiring was confusing but I finally figured it out then when I went to install the thermostat, the connections section broke off so I had to order a replacement and do expedited shipping so I have it for my next camping trip!
My husband installed the unit on our 25' 1986 Airstream by building down to connect the inside air box. We haven't used it yet because of low temp since the installation but are confident that it will work well. We are very happy with the purchase.
Works Fantastic!! Ordered a Direct Replacement, Installation went VERY smoothly…..
Great product so far, was extremely easy to install! I put this air conditioner in my older (2014) rv and it was a direct swap out just with some nicer newer features, such as the thermostat only requiring 4 wires. The whole swap out only took a a few short hours including removing the old AC! I would recommend this kit as it includes all you need and even works with your furnace.
Probably my fault but I thought this would run wireless. Not only did I have to figure out how to run a thermostat wire somewhere, I also had to figure out how to get 12 volt to it. And the thermostat broke trying to connect it to its base. The wire terminal blocks busted off. I had to try to figure out where to buy a replacement. After a few days I'm still not up and running waiting for parts. I think it will work nice once I can get it all together. Instructions could be better.
Unit was delivered and it was undamaged. Installed unit with no problems. I turned it on and it operated and cooled. The only problem was I couldn't adjust the thermostat, the screen lit up blue but the display would not show any data. I called Advent Air and they are sending me a new thermostat. Prompt service and very professional technicians.
Outstanding product.
Thank you eTrailer for providing a replacement for our original AC unit. Although the original lasted a long time, it decided to give up on us right before our first camping trip of the summer which had a forecast of being really hot. As I frantically searched for a replacement, eTrailer came to the rescue with the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System. Our original unit was 13.500 BTU, but we opted to upgrade to a 15,500 BTU unit which has been a great increase in cooling power.
The wiring was super easy to get figured out. And I had the entire unit swapped out and running in one evening.
One note... our existing system had a number of other thermostat wires that were not needed for this installation. In addition, there was a hot thermostat wire (12v) coming back from the furnace in the older installation. It appears that wire is not needed for the new system (based upon other online resources - but no explanation has been found as to what that was used for.) We simply cut it flush and taped the end to keep it from causing us trouble.
The system does a great job of cooling the unit and is much quieter than the original AC. We are SUPER happy with the purchase.
So far so good, a relatively easy replacement of the existing unit (2019 Dometic Duo Therm) despite being manufactured under the updated 2025 coolant standard. Was stoked that the wires were labeled, way to go Advent! You'll need four wires to connect the wall-mounted thermostat. Many of the units made prior to 2025 require 3 wires, so running a new cable might be necessary if your current one only has 3.
Can’t give honest rating yet because I can’t install it. All of the packages have not been received. The last package is still lost in UPS system. Until I receive everything I can’t install new ac unit.
So far not impressed. Once package has shown this many delays, a replacement should have been reshipped to me.
I have an Advent air in the bedroom and love it so made sense to get the one for the living room when the time came. It’s super easy to install but the thermostat is GARBAGE. It broke right out of the box when connecting the wires, the Bluetooth option doesn’t work and there aren’t instructions in the booklet for it and it keeps turning itself off every 24 hours leaving my RV hot. I would NOT recommend it.
I appreciate your customer service. Briele was very helpful with information on the new Advent air conditioner. I will definitely be back! Thank you!
We have cold air! The system works great but is louder than expected from wind noise due to the design on the louvers. The thermostat cycles this unit on and off very frequently instead of cooling just past set and drifting just above as the dometic system did. The instructions don't mention how to configure the foam plenum for ducted systems. You will need to buy wire nuts for 120v and crimp connectors for 12v wiring. Buy a roll of aluminum ductwork tape to seal things and to cut down on wind noise. I have not yet wired in our furnace, I assume the singular brown wire will signal a relay if I buy one?
The thermostat is a little hard to wire with the cover not wanting to snap in place correctly. The temp sensing bulb I assume is very easy to get bent when installing the cover. The unit is for a ducted system but did not match my in line ceiling ducts on my 2000 Bounder. I did a work around by using 3" flexible plastic with a hole cut in the foam supplied with the unit and modifying the old duct extension to get air to the front of the coach. It does seem to run pretty quiet(not as loud as the Coleman Mach was but it was old). Taking on trip over Labor Day so will see how it does. For anyone replacing a unit that has the Intellitec energy management system I had to run a new wire for the thermostat to control the front furnace and had to tap into the coach lighting circuit to supply the 12 volts needed. Also had to tap into the front A/C wiring harness before it goes to the management system to route it to thermostat without it giving a E5 error code
I installed it on my Concourse Chinook. The roof thickness is just shy of 2 1/2" and is a fiberglass shell insulated with Styrofoam. I couldn't torque the mounting screws to the recommended 40 in-lbs without deforming the lower plate which then didn't allow the vent cover to fit properly. So I had to reduce the torque. I hope it is enough pressure to keep the seal from leaking. Everything thing else went smoothly. FYI the switch panel is capacitive, so my index finger was not enough surface area to activate the switches. I had to use my thumb. Didn't press, just touched. Before I figured it out I thought the panel was defective.
Great
My name is Martin beaver and I ordered a advent 15500 roof top Air conditioner the first one was damaged so I sent it back and they sent me another one and when I opened the box it was also damaged but not as bad as the first one we had a camping trip planned for July 4 so I installed the unit and so far it works great I think etrailer needs to package the units better because both units I got had been dropped hard and damaged. GOOD LUCK
The touch buttons on the panels are a little tricky to work.
Looks great. Have not had it installed yet. Will update.
I was hoping being 45 years newer than the AC that it replaced, it would be quieter. It's louder. With the fan set to low, to help with noise, the AC cannot keep up.
seems well built - definitely gets cold! I like that doesn't require separate panel or knobs - clean install - definitely has enough screws to hold top on!
Unit was very easy to install. No screws to deal with. The outside unit sandwiches to this inside unit. The out side gasket comes pre installed on the unit. Price point is good. I installed it on a 2005 Jay Feather that did not have ac but was pre wired for it. The only issue I have with the unit is the touch panel is not very sensitive and feels very cheap. That's the only reason for 4 stars. But over all the unit puts out cold air and does what it's supposed to. Would buy again for a budget unit.
