Which Side of Leaf Spring Suspension Does MORryde X-Factor Attach To
Updated 05/12/2026 | Published 05/09/2026 >
Question:
I have a single axle Grand Design Imagine Aim 15RB TT. I am installing the standard MorrydeX Factor crossmember XF12-001 and am not clear whether it should be attached to the front hangar black color in attached picture or the rear silver in second photo. All recommendations say to do it behind the axle but the two connections to the leaf spring are very different. Which one should I attach it to? Thanks, Paul R

Hey Paul, thank you for the pictures. So you would want to install the MORryde X-Factor part # MR33WR to the black hanger and not the silver one. The silver component is the shackle strap and it is designed to be able to move so you would not want to brace it up. How are you liking the Imagine Aim?

I agree with Jameson C. Do not attach to shackles (silver). I'll add after looking at your pics - make sure the Morryde mounting brackets actually work with your spring hanger. They work with hangers that are the same width top to bottom. Your hangers look like they taper out at the top. Just make sure the Morryde outer hanger bracket adapter is wider than the leaf spring hanger.

Thanks! Great trailer for couples. The Murphy bed makes it feel like a much larger trailer.

First trip out after installing these X Factor braces. Not too difficult to install. Be sure to check if you have plumbing in the way and may need the drop bracket instead on the standard bracket. No difference in towing capability as expected but one thing I notice at the campground is the trailer seems more stable when someone walks inside.
