Question:
I am looking into getting the tow and stow pintle hitch dual ball. But my truck is lifted and gen y says the hitch hight of my truck says I need a 9 inch . I was just wondering if anyone had a measurement of the bandw from the top of the shank to the last position of the location.

Hi Taylor,
I pulled up the B&W Tow and Stows with the pintle and it looks like they don't have an option that has a 9-inch drop. The only options for a 2.5" hitch receiver is the BW77BR you were already looking at with a 6" drop. Since the shank is designed to fit into a 2.5" receiver, the height from the top of the shank to the ball in it's lowest position should roughly be 8"-8.5". If you've calculated your drop to be 9 inches, then we may need to look into brands other than B&W to see if they have a drop that can accommodate the height of your lifted truck or even exceed the 9" so you have some wiggle room.
Gen-Y has multiple ball mounts for a 9" drop and greater for a 2.5" hitch receiver. The Gen-Y Adjustable ball mount w/stacked receivers part # 325-GH-1925 has a 9" drop, 2" and 2 5/16" ball, pintle option, and is rated for 32K. If you don't need a ball mount rated for that much you can use the Gen-Y Adjustable ball mount w/stacked receivers part # GY58PR that has the same 9" drop, 2" and 2 5/16" ball, pintle option, but is rated for 21K instead. Or if you wanted to go a little larger on the drop just in case, there's the Patriot Hitches 5-way, 3-ball mount w/stacked receivers part # PH28NR. It's rated for 30K towing with a 10" drop and built in pintle hook and tow hook. It even comes with blue or red accents if you wanted something with color.
How much weight are you needing to tow?
