Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Gen-Y adjustable two-ball mount with the pintle lock. Has a nine inch drop and rise and it's for a 2 1/2 inch hitch. And this has a 32,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this is an adjustable ball mount that'll let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle.

Basically, the shank portion right here is what'll slide into your 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver on your vehicle. And then up front, you can use either this 2 5/16 diameter ball or this two inch ball. Those will provide the connection points for your trailer coupler. Also on this part, they do include this pintle lock accessory. When this accessory is paired with the larger 2 5/16 ball, it'll provide a nice connection point for a lunette ring coupler.

And a lunette ring coupler is used on a lot of heavy-duty trailers. Just a large ring that'll drop over the ball. Basically, I wanna pop up an insert. That picture, if you look, will show you a lunette ring over this ball. And then you can see the pintle lock accessory sliding out to hold it into place.

Basically, to install that, all you have to do is take out your pin and clip, slide the accessory back out of the way. Go ahead and hook up your lunette ring to the ball. Once it gets down on there, slide this over the lunette ring, line up your pin with the hole, clip it into place, and then that'll lock it into place. Keeps that lunette ring from coming off the ball. Now, if you happen to not be using a lunette ring coupler, just a regular trailer coupler, you can actually store this lock out of the way.

Just slide it back. There's a second hole. And then clip that into place. And it'll store this pintle lock accessory into the shank and you can use this for a regular trailer coupler. Now, the capacity on this ball mount will be determined by the ball size you used. So, if you use this larger 2 5/16 diameter ball, gross towing weight capacity is 32,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity of 3,500 pounds. If you flip it over and use the two inch diameter ball, gross towing weight capacity of 16,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity of 1,500 pounds. If you notice, this shank has a five stacked 2 1/2 inch size receivers. These will accept the included ball mount and pintle lock we mentioned as well as other hitch mounted accessories. It does come with these two 3/4 inch diameter stainless steel pins and clips. Those are included to secure the ball mount to the shank and the pintle lock to the shank. And one thing I wanted to mention, talk about is this twist lock or this twist clip design. It's a really nice feature cause usually those clips are just straight. And when you try to put them on, sometimes it's hard to push them on or hard to get them off. On these, you just twist it. And as you twist it, you can see it pops right off. Slide out your pin. And then when you go to install it, put your pin in and then you just push them into place. And when you push it, it'll clip into place. It's twisting goes into place. So, those clips are very easy to use. Now, this does give you adjustable height. It'll let you tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. Works well if you have a lifted truck. Basically, this ball mount can be put in any one of these receiver openings to get you the correct height you need for your application. Maximum drop, in other words, if you install this shank just like this and put this in the lowest position, it'll get you a maximum drop of nine inches. If you take this shank and flip it over into the rise position and put that in the highest position, it'll get you a maximum rise of nine inches. Now, this is a heavy-duty steel construction. Has a zinc primer and a black powder coat finish on the two-ball mount and the pintle lock accessory. On the shank itself, it uses a nice primer and then a durable silver vein epoxy powder coat to resist corrosion. Now, when you do install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock for securing it to the receiver. Those items are not included. We do sell those separately on our website. And they give you two different size hitch pin hole diameters here. It's got a 5/8 inch diameter on the smaller one, 3/4 inch on the larger one. This part is SAE J684 certified. It is made in the USA. Application, again, this fits a 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver. And one last note I do wanna mention on this, this ball mount does have many different dimensions to it. So, I do recommend for you to go to the product page of this part number to verify any dimension that may be needed for your application.
