Specs:
This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 5 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.
Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.
With the 5 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. Insert a bike rack or cargo carrier. Mount a spare tire carrier. Use a tow bar to flat tow your vehicle. Or just add a fun hitch cover. This heavy-duty mount is built with a 3,000-lb tongue weight, so you can even use multiple hitch accessories at the same time, as long as there are no clearance issues. This means that you can use your hitch-mounted bike rack to haul your bikes while also flat towing your vehicle.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we can take a look at this Gen Y Adjustable Two Ball Mount with a drop in a rise for a two and a half inch hitch. It has a 21,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this is an adjustable ball mount, so we'll let you hook your trailer to your tow vehicle. Basically the shank back here is what'll slide into your two and a half inch hitch receiver that's on your vehicle, and you'll secure it using a hitch pin, and clip or a hitch lock.
Now those items we do sell separately on our website. The hitch pin hole, you can see there's two of them, it has a diameter of five eights of an inch. Now up front, it has two different ball sizes, a two inch diameter ball, and a two in five 16 inch diameter ball. These will provide the connection points for your trailer coupler. Also, what they include on this part is a pintle lock accessory.
And what's nice with that is, when this is paired with the larger two in five 16th ball, it does provide a connection point for the lunette ring coupler. So basically what happens is the lunette ring coupler would be a coupler on your trailer that's a round ring and it'll just drop over the ball, and to keep it on the ball from coming off the ball, this pinto lock will hold it in place. So what you'll basically do is go ahead and take out your clip, take out your pin, push this back out of the way, and then you'll have your lunette ring on your trailer coupler. Drop it right over there. It'll settle in place right here.
And then to keep it in place, what you do is just slide this over, and your lunette ring won't be able to pop off the ball. And then when you get it hole lined up, just put your pin back through, take your clip, put your clip back on, and it'll hold that over the lunette ring to keep it from coming uncoupled. And the another nice feature is, if you're not towing a lunette ring coupler just a regular trailer coupler, you can take your pin out, slide it out of the way, there's another hole at that, line it up, clip it into place, and it'll just keep it out of the way so you can really use your regular coupler on the ball. (throat clearing) Now the gross towing weight capacity is gonna be determined by the ball size you use. If you use the larger two and five 16 standard ball, gross towing weight capacity, 21,000 pounds, tongue weight of 3,000 pounds.
If you flip this over, and use the smaller two inch ball, gross towing weight will be 16,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight of 2,200 pounds. If you notice the finish on this, it's a zinc primer, and then a silver vein powder coat finish to resist corrosion. Now the adjustable height, you notice it'll have five stacked two and a half inch size receivers. It'll accept the included ball mount, the pintle lock accessory we mentioned, and as well as other hitch mounted accessories through that Gen Y will offer. Now we mentioned the pins, there's two of them here and clips. These are nice five eight inch diameter stainless steel pins and clips. They're included to secure the ball mount to the shank you can see, and that pintle lock accessory. And the other neat thing about it is what I really like is the Gen Y uses these, their own design. That's called a Twist Clip, and it's much easier to use. So basically when you put your pin through to put 'em on instead of being straight, that sometimes makes it hard to push 'em on, this has a curve to it. So you'll just do it like this, push it, and when you push it, it'll flip over and clip into place. Much easier to install and remove. The adjustable height, this will let you tow trailers at different heights with the same vehicle. Basically the ball mount take your pin and clip out can be dropped all the way down to the bottom. Raised up to the top so it can be lowered or raised to match your application. Now one thing I do wanna mention on this one, this is considered an offset shank. And what the offset shank means is, instead of the shank being at the very end or the top here, it's offset a little bit. So because of that, what's gonna happen is, it'll give you different measurements. So basically if you use it in this position, which is the drop position, and you put this all the way down at the bottom, it'll measure a maximum drop of nine inches. If you put this all the way up at the top, a maximum rise of three inches. But also if you flip this over in the rise position, it would just be the inverse. So you put this at the very bottom, it gets a maximum drop of three inches. You put it up at the top, it'll get you a maximum rise of nine inches. So depending on how you install this into your hitch would get you what drop or rise you would need. And again, it is adjustable, you can put it into whatever position you need. This is a heavy duty steel construction. It is SAEJ 684 certified. It is made in the USA. Application. Again, it fits two and a half inch by two and a half inch trailer hitch receivers. Now a couple measurements I do wanna give you is the length from the center of the ball to the center of the first hitch pin hole. And from the center of the ball to the second one, they're only an inch apart. So basically if we measured center to center, the first one, it's 12 inches, and then the extra inch to the last second hitch pin hole, 13 inches. And also this ball mount does have many different dimensions. So what I do recommend for you to do is go to the product page of this part number, and you can verify any dimension that might be needed for your application. But that should do it for our look at the Gen Y Adjustable Two Ball Mount with the drop in rise for a two and a half inch hitch receiver.

Insert this heavy-duty mount into your 2-1/2" hitch to get 5 stacked 2-1/2" receivers for mounting the included 2" ball, 2-5/16" ball, pintle hook, or other hitch-mounted accessory. Tongue weight is 3,000 lbs. This is a well built long lasting hitch.
Its stout and pulls my 7X16 foot enclosed trailer, fully loaded with 8,000 pounds, without any issue. I don't even know that its back there. I have a diesel Ram 2500 with an 8 inch lift and the hitch drops level with the trailer. 5 stars!!
This thing is ideal, and I've used it every way possible.
Be advised, this thing is heavy-duty. It's not for the faint of heart, or anyone with a weak back. It's built to last forever and weighs accordingly.
Great product!
Product is pretty awesome. very well built. We use in the marine shop for towing 42-50ft 25k+ boats. This is the first product to withstand the requirments. The pintle is so simple and keeps the shop truck from having to swap a standard ball and P-hook between different trailer applications. Highly recommend for the serious user. Its HEAVY so handling the product is a chore but reliability is definatly there. if you buy locking pin for hitch, buy the strongest you can find. We damaged one with this product.
Great hitch works flawlessly. Easy to configure any ball height
Or size. negative is the grey paint and decals flaked off and it is rusting in first 6 months.
This hitch has been used with both balls in every height position. Hitch is durable and high quality. It has not been off my truck since I purchased it and is used frequently to tow 10-20K trailers.
Everything you want in a hitch in this class.
Great Product I pull a lot of weight pretty much everyday.
This is great. Heavy duty, quality product. will use to tow my toad behind my RV & bike rack for bikes above tow bar
This hitch is the last one I should ever have to buy. It is well worth the money and should last a long time. I pull 10,000lb trailers and it works out well. No rattling or clanking with this hitch.
This is the best receiver on the market. It will haul it!!!!
Awesome heavy duty hitch, ordered some locking pins for just incase someone felt strong enough to to take it.
By far the most heavy duty hitch I have ever purchased. Could tell whwn I picked up the box it was well built! Just got it on when I got home from work and haven't used it yet, but it will definitely get tested tomorrow. I will post pics later. If you are on the fence, get it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I have both ball and pintle hitch Trailers. That is why I bought this hitch. The hitch it self is well built but the Paint job is not that great . I have had it a year and most of the paint on the Shank ( another reason I bought it for the 3" shank to fit my receiver on my ford Superduty) is pretty much gone. The hitch it self still clanks around in the receiver .I wish there was an adaptor to fit over the Larger ball so that my pintle eye would not move around so much.
Prompt delivery!
Sturdy, well built. But it rusts!! All that money and it rusted within months. I’ve had a B&W for 10+ years and it’s as shiny as the first day.
Great product. Always the best. This is the 3rd one we have purchased for our heavy trucks. My hitch came all scratched and banged up from poor shipping. Not a positive for a $xxx hitch. Will be looking for a different distributer than etrailer in the future for these products. Great product, 5/5, however etrailer did no favors on this product.
Been towing with this hitch for a year now. It’s the best hitch I’ve ever owned. The longest I’ve ever kept the same hitch. Easy to switch heights, strength, it’s bulletproof. I’ve dropped a loaded dump trailer onto the ball after not getting it lined up correctly. The weight would have bent any other hitch. This Gen-Y laughed at it.
Packaging could be better. Brand new expensive hitch and because it’s packaged poorly there are dings and scrapes and missing coatings on the flats where it’s been banged around. There again this is a bad ass hitch and extremely sturdy and well built. This is a tool and meant to work so the dings aren’t a big deal really if you’re going to use it as such but if you’re wanting show truck sparkle this didn’t suffice. I know these spots where the hitch has been dinged will rust.
Haven't used it yet but it looks great! 19 f250 with 8" lift and 37's. The 12 drop is perfect
We use these for almost every truck in our fleet. For us, it really is a 1 hitch solution. On some of ours that our several years old and stay in the receiver year-round, the finish is starting to come off because of the ridiculous amount of salt that they put on the roads in our region. But otherwise they still function 100%.
Nice hitch need a set of locking pins please send me what’s available
Simpliflies the work of switching between ball sizes. And will minimize damage from others if struck in the rear.
