Best Trailer Hitch For 1993 Chevy C1500 Short Bed

Question:

Need hitch for 1993 Chevy C1500 Short Bed. Im concerned because many hitches appear to fit long and short bed. The hitch I removed from my 93 long bed hitch from Curt does not fit my 93 short bed. Can you recommend a hitch to fit 1993 Chevrolet C1500 Short Bed? Thank You

Hello Joe, thanks for reaching out. Yes, we do have a hitch for the 1993 Chevy C1500 short bed. For that I recommend the following:

- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # C14081

This will fit short bed pickup models with a standard rear bumper or step bumper. Just keep in mind it will not fit models with the roll pan bumper or dual exhaust models. Also, if you have a spare tire 18" or larger stored under the vehicle, the spare will no longer fit with the hitch installed.

Joe, I installed the Curt C14081 Jesse recommended on my 1997 gmc k1500 reg cab short box and it fit great. It has been a good hitch for my uses. I do have aftermarket dual exhaust that it worked with, however I have not tried installing my 33” spare tire yet.

One thing I have noticed if the spare tire under the bed is important to you. The hitches with the 2” tubing that the hitch welds to running under the bumper instead of hidden seem to fit the spares better.
