I’ve installed three of these hitches on my famly’s Crosstreks and the equivalent hitch on an Outback. The most recent was on my wife’s 2025 Crosstrek. Buy a two inch hitch and it will easily support your bike rack and bikes. I also bought the trailer light pigtail from etrailer as I have a lightweight utility trailer we can tow with the two inch hitch. The pigtail is easy to install. The hitches are relatively simple to install with pretty basic mechanical skills. Two items that make installation much easier are a larger step drill bit from that well known budget tool outlet and a floor jack with a strap. The step drill bit makes enlarging the two holes quite simple. Set the hitch on the floor jack and tie it in place with the strap. This allows you to lift the hitch up into place and hold it perfectly aligned against the frame by yourself while threading the nuts onto the bolts. Make sure you wear safety glasses or goggles the entire time and especially when drilling metal to enlarge the holes in the frame.

This hitch was put on a 2022 Crosstrek by my wife's cousin. It fits great and works great. It holds a Hollywood model HR1500 rack and I added a Hollywood Rack TRK Trike Adapter for a recumbent bike. The two racks are very heavy and the hitch does a fantastic job with the total weight of racks and bikes. You will not be disappointed.
