Hey Michael, Curt hitches are generally my favorite hitch to recommend as in our experience we have found them to just have the tightest quality control and they are also made in the USA. We have year of experience with them to back that up so I would recommend the Curt # C13382. It's also priced great.

Now Blue Ox part # BLU73UR is also made in the USA and based on our long time experience with their flat towing components they make great products. I would feel very confident recommending this hitch too but it's advantage would be if you were planning on installing a 7-way trailer wiring connector too as it has a bracket built in for that. If you weren't going to use a 7-way then this wouldn't be my first pick.

The etrailer hitch # e98912 is exact same hitch as the Curt except we request a matte finish instead of glossy paint. So between this and the Curt I would go with whichever happened to be priced better.

What are you plans for a hitch?

Hey Michael, how did things turn out with the Curt hitch on your Crosstrek? Did the fit and finish meet your expectations? Your feedback could really help others choosing between these hitches.

@JamesonCI I have not had the hitch installed yet ( I have had four back operations so I don"t lay on cold garage floors anymore) but I had a Curt hitch on my previous Ford Escape and was very pleased. Thanks.

@MichaelS Makes sense! You're not missing much laying on garage floors though! We really like Curt hitches here so I am sure you'll like the new one too!
