Is Curt Hitch Similar Enough to TowSmart Hitch for 2021 Chrysler Pacifica to Use Install Video

Updated 04/13/2026 | Published 04/12/2026

Question:

I have a Chrysler Pacifica Touring. I have watched the installation video of the Curt hitch. I see this towsmart hitch doesn’t have an installation video. Are the steps the same for this hitch? The Curt hitch comes with a pull along with a spring so the bolts can be pulled into their correct positions. Does this hitch come with those pulls? Also, this hitch has a 750 maximum tongue weight with weight distribution. What is the maximum tongue weight without weight distribution? Next, what is the height measurement from the bottom of the hitch to the ground once it is installed. Lastly, what is the measurement from the center of the hitch pin to the very backside of the bumper? Again, these questions are for a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica touring.

Hey Nathan, yes the TowSmart hitch part # TS54ZR is similar enough to the Curt # C12180 that you could use it's install video as a guide for the install of it. This hitch does also come with bolt leaders as well to help get the install hardware through the hitch install bolt holes. This hitch also has the same towing capacities with and without weight distribution which is 750 lb tongue weight and 5,000 lb trailer weight. From the ground to the bottom of the hitch would be about 9 inches.
