Recommended Hitch for a 2026 Honda Odyssey That's Compatible w/a Vertical Bike Rack

Can you use this Curt hitch with vertical style bike racks? I read on a review of another Curt hitch C13370 that We did get a recent update from Curt that they are slowly updating their information to state that vertical hanging bike racks can not be used with their hitches.inch but this seems to be a different design than that one with a longer mounting area.

You can not Tim but I have a hitch that does work with vertical bike racks. For your 2026 Honda Odyssey, I recommend the Blue Ox Hitch item # BLU72UR. Blue Ox has approved their class III hitches to be used with vertical bike racks so long as you do not exceed the tongue weight capacity.
The Blue Ox Hitch item # BLU72UR has a 675 lbs tongue weight capacity but you will be limited to 350 lbs because that is the maximum capacity of your Odyssey. The 350 lbs limit includes the bike rack and bikes.
Which vertical rack do you plan on using, and how many bikes are you going to carry?

I use the Blue Ox hitch on my 2024 odyssey exclusively to carry bikes. I have a four bike Kuat rack and have carried 4 mountain bikes on it numerous times over long distances. I have never had an issue. I am considering getting a 5-6 bike vertical rack and would use it with the hitch without a second thought. One issue with the rack is ground clearance on steep slopes. So if you haven’t bought your rack yet you may want to look at how far below the hitch it falls.
