Question:

Good morning. What products would you recommend to control electric trailer brakes, when towed behind a Class A DP motor home that is equipped with air brakes?

Good day Jim, I have a great option for your towing needs.

The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR comes with a dash knob and universal wiring harness for installation. This is usually the best option for a Class A diesel pusher motorhome because it’s much easier to install, doesn’t take up space under the dash, and gives you smooth proportional braking. The controller works with electric or electric-over-hydraulic systems and it's compatible with air brakes because it goes off the electric brake signal under the pedal. If you'd like to provide the model of Motorhome you have, I can check for the plug and play harness.

What are you towing behind the motorhome?

Thank you for the suggestion. The motor home is a 2001 Bluebird Wanderlodge LX-40. The trailer is a Diamond 24ft Enclosed 10k Utility Trailer with electric brakes on both axles.

@JimG anytime my friend, I did search for a plug and play harness for your 2001 Bluebird Wanderlodge LX-40. The option for install is going to be the universal harness. if you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
