Question:

There seems to be some conflicting information about this item. Can the Curt Pop-In Ball part # C60601 work in a 2025 GMC 2500 factory puck system?

It can not Jared. For the puck system in your 2025 GMC Sierra 2500, you'll need the Curt Pop-In Ball item # C60627. The diameters of the Ram and GM pucks and gooseneck ball are slightly different. If you use the Curt C60601 for Ram trucks on your Sierra, the locking mechanism won't engaged properly and it'll be loose.

We also have the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit item # C38CR. This kit includes the hitch ball and the safety chain loops.

What I’m really looking for is a Ball to replace the factory ball that came with my factory puck system in my 2025 GMC 2500 that is shorter than the factory Ball. My truck is a little bit too tall for my current gooseneck set up and if I could shorten the ball by an inch or an inch and a half I think that would make it perfectly level. Any ideas?

@Jared I do not have a shorter gooseneck ball for the GM puck system. The top of the Curt item # C60627 sits right at 5-1/8" above the bed. The other options only get taller. If you could give me some measurements or part numbers off of your gooseneck tube, I can see if we have a shorter coupler.

@JerredH I have the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter. I have it pushed in as far as it goes so I can’t make it any shorter. I added 2” to my fifth wheel suspension and that helped but I’m not level yet.

@Jared Yeah, I can't do anything with the Ranch adapter height. How did you raise your 5th wheel trailer? If you did an axle flip you can also install the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit item # RR55QX. These brackets attach to your spring hangers and move the attachment point for the leaf springs down 2-1/4". This lifts your trailer up a corresponding amount.
