Hey Robert, that's going to depend on how your Generator is powering your RV. If your generator is just plugging in to the shore power port on the camper with an adapter, then you'll want the 50 amp soft start # SSR64FR that plugs in between the camper and the shore power cord. This will work when you're plugged into the pedestal at your camp site, and will work when your generator is plugged into the shore power plug.

If you have an onboard generator it gets a little tricky. I'd need to know what transfer switch the camper is using, but if you have a 30 amp generator i believe that you have one that's just plugging in, not on board.

How often are you using the generator?

I don't have an onboard generator. It's a stand alone I would use if we were boondocking. It has a 30amp hook up.

@RobertH Perfect, then the linked above soft start will work just fine with your generator or when hooking up to shore power.
