Question:

i want to remove surge brakes from 2007 mc clain boat trailer for good ,,would it any problems.

If you want to deactivate the hydraulic brakes on your boat trailer, you can certainly do so. The simplest way to do this would be to drain the brake fluid from the lines by disconnecting the brake lines from the wheel cylinders and allowing the fluid to drain. You'd then immobilize the articulating portion of the coupler by drilling holes in either side and sliding a bolt through to prevent the coupler from compressing.

A better long term option would be to remove the coupler and replace it with one of the proper capacity for the weight of your trailer and boat.

You can simply leave the brake assemblies in place. As long as the fluid is drained from the system, they won't be operable any longer.

Keep in mind that depending on the weight of the boat and trailer, operating the trailer on public roads without brakes might not be legal. You'll want to check with your local Highway Patrol or State Police for details.
