Recommendation to Add Electric Brakes to a M101A1 Military Trailer While Retaining Parking Brake
Question:
I have an M101A1 military trailer that currently has no brakes other than the manual hand lever parking brakes. Is there a way to add electric brakes to this and still retain the parking brake feature ?

For your M101A1 Military trailer the parking brakes can be maintained when adding electric brakes when you use the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit w/ Parking Brakes - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # 23-112-113. These electric brake assemblies will fit a 12 inch by 2 inch drum and have the parking brake lever needed for that function. I've attached a photo to assist as well as a video.
Most of these trailers have a large axle, but over time some have axles replaced, so if you have a smaller axle, you can alternatively use # K23-086-087-00 if you have 10 inch by 2-1/4 inch drums.
