Question:

I have 2025 Rockwood 2318FT. Looking to upgrade the SJ-2500 jacks. What do you recommend? The stock build is thin. Thanks, Craig

Hey Craig, thanks for reaching out. If your 2025 Rockwood 2318FT came with the SJ-2500 stabilizer jacks, I agree with you. They're functional, but they're pretty light-duty. My favorite upgrade is the etrailer Scissor Stabilizer Jack # TJSCHD-24 (qty 2). It has the same 2,500 lb capacity per jack, but it's a much heavier-built jack with a stronger screw assembly and thicker construction. It also has 18-3/4 inches of travel, making it a direct replacement for many factory scissor jacks.

If your mounting pattern matches the factory jacks, it's a straightforward bolt-on swap. If not, drilling a few new holes takes care of it. The difference in quality is noticeable the first time you crank them down. They feel tighter, operate smoother, and do a much better job of stabilizing the camper.

Where do you usually camp? Level pads or rough sites?
