Question:
I got a towing connection cord from you folks. It is a Blue Ox cord. 6 wire watertite round on the end that plugs into the towed vehicle. The towed car has a Pollak receptacle which I do not like. The blue ox connection seems very loose and then the battery is not charged via 12v charge line. Is there a Blue Ox 6 wire receptacle I can get and replace the Pollak receptacle? Or do you think a different receptacle. The Pollak does not hold the connector in the receptacle at all. It is the receptacle that attaches to the car. not the RV. Thanks

Hello Emory, thanks for reaching out. Yes I'm not a huge fan of the Pollak plastic plugs either. We do have a replacement 6-round plug from Blue Ox part # BX294-0902 which should be a better match for your Blue Ox cord. I've had good luck with these in the past.
Or if you don't want another plastic plug, we do have a die-cast zinc plug from Pollak part # PK11609. These metal plugs are typically an upgrade from the standard plastic plugs and make for a nice, secure connection. I understand if you are out on the Pollak stuff though. If that's the case the Blue Ox socket will do just fine.
What kind of vehicle is this going on? What RV do you have?

Hello Emory, I am a customer that uses the Blue Ox Cord from my Tiffin OpenRoad 34PA to a BlueOX 6 pin round receptacle. I have found that the socket holds the cable plug sufficiently. I havent had any issues there however on the big end on the RV i have had to jiggle around some at RV on occasion when performing light test before travel. In regards to charge line. I had to install that on my Toad and purchased the charge line with Diode down to the 6 pin round connector. I purchased the charge wire with diode from etrailer. It is possible your Jeep 6 pin round wiring does not include the wiring to your diode/battery . Hope that helps, Chuck

2019 Tiffin Allegro Bus and towing a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I just don't like the Pollak receptacle. I probably will change to the Blue Ox and since I am using a Blue Ox cord, I hope it will fit better.
